The show was titled "Fahrenheit" based on Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Not sure the names of the pieces.
-
Crown for sure, especially with all the new matching equip. trucks/matching paint jobs. That organization is top notch.
-
In the end, it's all just marching band.
I'm thrilled that it passed. I can't wait to hear an electronic show in DCI. Can't wait for 09!
-
Madison Scouts and Crown used to play "Everything in it's Right Place" by Radiohead as a good double stop warm up. Really cool to listen to.
Crown also played "The Scientist" by Coldplay this summer
RCC used to play "Precious Things" by Tori Amos, also a really cool unison hands warm up.
-
Well I'm sure the staff knows what they're doing and will almost definitely be working with them to upgrade their marching line.

You roll into the housing site at 3 am and you're ready to collapse on the gym floor... and what's stopping you from sleeping? WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRR people filling their air matresses.
I'd take that sound for 2 minutes over back problems for the rest of my life any day.
-
RCC's "Shake Hands with Beef."
p.s. mmmm shiraz...
-
Yep he was the tenor tech in 07. and will be for 08.

They've already sent Blue Devils, Glassmen, and Rhythm X over there. Matrix is going in March. Am I missing anyone?
Father Ryan HS is also going with Matrix.

Phantom Regiment is pleased to announce a new partnership with DEG/Dynasty USA Music Products. Under this three-year agreement, Phantom Regiment will utilize DEG/Dynasty USA percussion equipment in all field and stage performances.
Ewww. Sorry front ensemble. But not surprised, as Rennick is a Dynasty artist.

Well...except for the uniform changes that are free because of sponsorship.
Who gets uniforms for free? I don't think any company would 100% sponsor any drum corps, no matter who they are.
-
Well I believe the Mt. Carmel [hosting HS] Band Boosters were passed the sponsorship for the show at the last minute in 07, so hopefully they or another HS music program in the county can pick up this show with plenty of time to plan ahead rather than the Esperanza Assoc., which pretty much no longer exists.

I think Crown will rise up. They had and always will have an awesome hornline. If they fix up there percussion, they can probably break the Top 3.
Going from what.. 15th in 2006 to 5th in 2007 in percussion wasn't good enough? Do you need to win a title to be considered a good percussion section or what? I thought the staff and members did a tremendous job this summer, what a step up from 2006.

Didn't the scores ONLY from the Phoenix and Stanford regionals determine that?
This is what I understood... or only the last 2 major events of the season determine the QF lineup. But when I was in Esperanza in 04 as a first year group in regional div. 1, they made us and Pacific Crest go on first and second at quarterfinals, despite our 18th and 17th place finishes, respectively, at the Indianapolis regional just a few days before...

BD could temporarily (10 years) relocate to the midwest. They could do the same tour as Cavaliers and Cadets. Maybe that would be the best business decision for them? Just find a school that will host them for spring training, start their tour from there, and go as far west as Denver.
they could still have their camps in Cali.
And not perform once in California/OR/WA? Pretty lame to ignore the entire west coast of the country.

2. i've heard that rubber gripping on gloves can wear the finish off horns... but i dunno i'm a pit guy.
3. the painting is called the Vitruvian Man by Leo da Vinci

I hate they dropped FirstBeat....i mean...i know it wasn't a BIG show, and not alot of people went...but having a show 5 miles from your house does rock...no matter who's playing, lol.
oh well.
FirstBEAT is still on, it's CrownBEAT they dropped.
-
Ya know...Who was it that did the Loooong frisbee toss and catch this year?
Wasn't that Capital Regiment in 2006
-
If it's happening with 3 different sets of DVD's, it's most likely your player.
-
I remember watching Tarpon Springs HS in 2005 and 2006 where they just stuck a dumset, an electronic kit, and some other random percussion in the middle of the field and that was their drumline. I thought it was genious!
-
I received my shipping notification a while ago. They were supposd to arrive today but when I checked they got recheduled for tomorrow, boooo.
-
The pit (or more aptly named front line because they now take up almost the ENTIRE front sideline) ...
Really? all 100 yards? I would love to see a front ensemble that large.
-
let's hope they get some one writing the parts who knows what they're doing, so that doesn't happen.
Shane Gwaltney!? Pretty sure he knows what he's doing... you must not have seen his work with Music City Mystique or Choctawhatchee HS.

Actually it was in 2005, Pulse's first year out, I played marimba in that show. Same concept, different name.
