what is that melody at 9:15 from????? (note...i cheated and used youtube..) I've heard several other high school bands play it and i can never seem to figure out what it is...
I'm pretty sure it's "Angels in America" by Thomas Newman from the movie by the same name.

I gotta give my due here...I have listened to Bell 05 more than most DCI shows I have. I don't always keep tabs on the circuit as much as I should (I could really say the same thing about DCI), but I was at GN Finals in 05 and got to see Bell's show there. The arrangements, the source material, the programming, the execution, Hell even the color palette--all of it was dead on. One of the few high school marching band shows I've seen that I would have loved to march.
Gave me chills.
Completely agree. I saw that show at BOA 05 as well, an AMAZING group. Love those arrangements, I watch that show over and over.

I got the email that I was billed as well.... so are they actually shipping before the scheduled Nov. 15th date???

I think it's different for each corps. We had our banquet on Tuesday of finals week at our housing site. In my previous corps, they have been in October, in between finals and auditions.
-
Wow. Is this really a subject worth discussing? <**>
-
cool video, i wish more corps would take this approach for recruiting.
-
WOW. omg. that is pretty amazing. :spit:

When I was browsing flights from San Diego to Charlotte on orbitz/cheaptickets, the cheapest airline was always AirTran, but you usually have to book those well in advance to get the cheapest.

RCC does a lot of movies/music videos around the LA area, so it's highly possible. I know when I was part of the band in 05/06 we did gigs for a System of a Down music video, american pie:band camp, gridiron gang, and they recently filmed for the upcoming Bratz movie.

Capital Regiment 2002 - I loved this show the entire summer, such a great performance. If Magic were in the correct division, would have rightfully won D.2
Patriots - Whatever year they did the industry show... 2000?
Esperanza 2003 - just because I was in it and liked the music.
Blue Stars 2003
Jersey Surf 2003 - loved that beach show

From DCI.org:
Troopers’ corps director Fred Morris announced the addition of Gordon Henderson to the corps’ 2008 educational staff. Henderson currently serves as associate director of bands and department of music vice chair at UCLA.WOW.

My personal favorite loud/exciting moment : the end of the opener, where the mellos just rip on that high note. Gotta love it.
Also a fav. Gives me chills every time.

Sounds like the drumline portion of the full corps clip was recorded at Lucas studios...

Hah, nice edit.

Awesome! I was wondering what they were going to do with that recording session.
-
Wow awesome. Got to catch a bit of them when Crown opened for their concert in June. I remember hearing one of their brass members is on staff with Spirit.
-
Hilarious :spit:
-
very cool! looking forward to it
-
that's irrelevant
It is if the corps goes inactive due to 'financial difficulties.' A brand new set of uniforms doesn't come free.
-
Wow outta nowhere.
Maybe new uniforms weren't such a good idea.

The dynasty press release on it mentions the fact that Rob will be using the Glassmen pit, which he just so happened to teach. Go figure.
Yeah, just read the press release which was posted yesterday (10/12). Thats cool, I enjoyed the Glassmen pit whenever I caught them next to us in the lot a few times this summer.
haha well i couldn't find it on pasic. Oh well, awesome !look under convention>pasic 2007 artists>marching

Phantom Regiment 07 has the most memorable pit effect for me..
all the train sounds in Blue Devils 04 as well were effective.
Cavaliers ballad in 04.
-
Awesome! how did you guys figure that out? I feel like i'm missing out on a nice media outlet here...
www.pasic.org
though it says nothing about the Glassmen pit being a featured performer... just Rob Ferguson doing a master class.
-
Does anyone know which drum line from one of the top corps will be at PASIC this year?
Bluecoats

So who is stepping up as director? He was the director right
Welcome Don Hill!

Well the music leading up to the impact at 9:15 is Lux Aurumque... but isn't the melody in question right at the impact from Angels in America?
