  1. i was listening to 2003 Phantom Regiment a week ago and when they had the big hit toward the end in Canon and the drums were going nuts in the background i just started tearing up. it is so beautiful
  2. I am a drum corps fanatic and I have the Scouts to thank for that. I saw my first drum corps show in the late 90's and the most memorable moment was watching the Scouts. I was totally hooked. I didn't see them again until 2003. It was hot and muggy, nearly 100 degrees, but when the Scouts marched out I got chills all over and was covered with goosebumps. Admittedly early in 2003 the Scouts show hadn't fully developed and in retrospect, the volume wasn't there, but they were the SCOUTS and that was enough for me. I have seen them this year live once, and on the streaming video from Indy. While some of the drill is a little distracting for me, I can definitely HEAR the Scouts. In my opinion, that beautiful brass sound that I hear on my cd's and videos of past Scout shows is there once again and this year's APD is one of my favorites because of that Scout's sound. I'm not a former corps person, just a fan. I appreciate all the time, energy and work these kids put in to any show, whether it is a Div III corps or one of the top 3. I don't presume to know how the corps could design, choreograph, play, etc. I just know that I LOVE DRUM CORPS and it should be a 12 month activity although it would tremdously hurt my productivity.
