  1. Dear Mr. Dans,

I feel you and many others want instant gratification with fan network web-casts. Don't you wan't to get to know some one first! :lookaround: Before you start to date them? I know I do ! :lookaround: Obviously, no one has discussed this with me, but it appears to me that what the Corps is doing is introducing YOU to everyone in the corps, then once you have met everyone then you will get to see more about how the Corps (As seen in Crown Minute #34) operates on a daily basis. Again, just speaking my mind here......... I have NO insider information........

On a personal note I take serious offense with the "bombarding us with lame videos of the corps eating lunch" and here is why: My son, who is marching member of CC was in one of those so called "lame" videos and I was thrilled to see him since he is several hundred miles away right now. So my Dans friend, sit back, relax, and get to know these people, learn their names, find out where they are from, how many years they have marched. And since I'm already out there remember these fine members are the ones who are practicing out in the elements for 16 hours a day, eating out of a food truck (I love you Ms. Pam :lookaround: ) and Sleeping on a gym floor every day. Please show some respect for these Corps members.

You are SO my hero! I have a beer for you at the show on Saturday with seats on the 50 up high (in front the the plasma screen anyway)

Canton is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Stark County[6]. The municipality is located in northeastern Ohio and is situated on the Nimishillen Creek, approximately 24 miles (38 km) south of Akron[7] and 60 miles (96 km) south of Cleveland[8].

It was founded in 1805 on the West and Middle Branches of the Nimishillen Creek, and became a manufacturing center owing to its location with numerous railroad lines. After the decline of heavy manufacturing, the city's industry has since diversified into service economy, including retailing, education, financial, and healthcare sectors.

The population was 80,806 at the 2000 census, but according to a 2006 census estimate, the population has declined to 78,924. Despite this decline, the 2004 figure actually had moved Canton up from 9th to 8th place among Ohio cities, as Youngstown, once considerably more populous than Canton, had suffered a larger decline. According to the US Census 2006 estimate, the Canton-Massillon, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area has a total population of 409,764 residents.

Canton is home to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the McKinley National Memorial, the William McKinley Presidential Library & Museum, and the First Ladies National Historic Site.

Are you saying you didn't enjoy William McKinley's years of service to the Nation? you commie!

  3. Sorry...no sarcasm meant, just don't know what technology DCI has feeding the scores from the show. One would think a phone call from the stadium to a webmaster could solve the problem if they have trouble uploading to the site from the show.

Common sense Sir, will not be tolerated here!

  4. I'm always amazed at folks who spout their version of something that happened to someone and then we all just expound about what should and shouldn't be done and the horrible injustices that abound

bottom line, if a kid quits, they don't get a refund at Corps X, if they get cut, they get dues back....injuries are a different matter but I know in the Corps my son is in that there have been injured kids that stayed for the summer in hopes of getting better. I guess it just depends but lets not get the lawyers here just yet. I hate that crap. As another example. I know of a kid that decided not to get up and was left at a site when they didn't show up when moving to another site. He ended up catching up but now the parent wants blood and lawyers and to right the horrific injustice of holding a person ACCOUNTABLE

good luck at that job in Burger King....

  5. A few thoughts...first: AT&T has just disbanded their payphone business. There are no more payphones for them, other vendors still have some, but the bottom line is they are dying. That said however, my son is going into his third year marching and is a teenager still in early high school. He blew up the phone over the summer with text messages but I think I spoke to him on his phone maybe 10 times between both summer combined!

He just isn't the talking kind but did like to keep in touch with friends and us via txt. That was enjoyable to me to know he would txtx me after a show to say how they did.

I haven't seen it to be a problem and I think it has more to do with what the Corps expects of you and instills in you as your responsibility
