  1. Oh my gosh, OK, now I remember! Wasn't that the year that Bridgemen did something illegal and got disqualified? I remember being so incredibly excited that you guys had made finals! And it was you and the other tenor and Lynn who inspired me to audition for 27th. I actually marched with Lynn's sister Gail there, who was an amazing soprano soloist. Anyway, thank you for your inspiration..........you guys rocked!
  2. No, actually it was a lady who marched way before us in BD. I think Kelli mentioned her name, and she played snare. There were several other females who marched tenor, but not many who got into snare lines.
  3. Madrid, I know you too well already. You are not kidding, you are a very naughty boy. But I love it! It is so great to be playing again!! And I also can't wait until I am throwing down on a regular basis. Mary
  4. Yes John was, in fact, the very first male to ever see my bare bottom. He lifted my kilt when we went "oobie", which, of course, means no undies. I'll never forget my "first"! By the way, I am now playing with the Portland Trailblazers Groove Machine drumline! Rudimental snare after all these years! Yikes! But I can still play flam drags! Mary Gromko Murray (Hi Kelli and Gisele)
  5. I think Garfield didn't make finals until the early 80's? I can't remember the year.
  6. Yeah that's me. I was 16 years old when I first marched with the Lancers!
  7. Yes, I knew Gizel from her days with the Chatelaines. I marched with the Fire-Ettes back then. When she marched with you in Crossmen, I was marching with Freelancers. I have a great photo of myself, Gizel, Peggy from Phantom, and Kelli from BD at finals that year. Mary Gromko-Murray
  8. Yes, I marched in Fire-ettes for many years before 27th Lancers. Your sign-on is 27 Socal, so did you march in 27th also? Mary
  9. Hey there everyone! I am one of those females who marched snare. I marched in 27th in 1978 through 1980. I don't know for sure, but I think I was the first female in a top 12 line? I would love to find out if that is true. I also marched with Freelancers in 1981 and 1982. Mary Gromko Murray
