What made me mad was the lack of 'real' content.
but to the 2010 corps I ask:
-
Their first show.
-
Come Sweet Death by Bach. Not as a show piece, but maybe as an encore or chorale. Could see Phantom or Crown doing this
-
Just adding my $.02
When I was punished for things like lack of focus, repeated ticks, depending on which rehearsal block we were in I either dropped and did push-ups or ran with my section. But as I ran or pushed ground, I was thinking about how to get back into rehearsal. Getting worked up physically as a brass player with an elevated heart rate and shortened breaths were the opposite of what my staff wanted so I tried to take enough time to settle down my breathing and heart rate as possible.
The point? So that when I'm hauling across the field (rehearsal or otherwise), horn in a 'pop' position and playing full out, I'm able to relax and play how I was instructed to do.

Love the plumes/helmets Phantom/Spartans have. Extra foot of height right there.
-
Just play this
Bb F G D Eb Bb Eb F about 30 times, and you'll be fine....

All evals are the same...
Co-signing. If I was in DCI's shoes, I would want to make sure that EVERY corps is going to be stable and get a full evaluation, whether it's a brand new corps, one that has been inactive for one year or several. It does no one good of a corps is approved and then goes inactive/folds a year later.

Yeah... ever since they moved to Dubuque, the Colts have been dead to some folks in Baltimore.

Saturday evening, January 23, the voting membership of Drum Corps International gathered to pass final judgment on each of the 2010 rules proposals that were forwarded from the earlier instructors caucus session. Below you will find a summary of each modification, followed by the Crusaders' viewpoint in red.The voting...

He works their souvie stand. There was a print article on dci.org about him last summer..
Okay, I remember reading that article but wasn't sure if he did or not.
-
I thought it was funny how little he said in the interview. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Vivian help out the corps other than giving them amazing hype?
-
Aging out. You know.
-
Jersery Surf
-To seize the publicity around the MTV show Jersey Shore, but debuting a new uniform, which includes gold chains, fake tans, and the world's first "greased-back-hair headgear, with a Bon Jovi inspired shako.
With gratuitous fist-pumping through out their entire show.

Everyone was responsible for loading their equipment on the truck, but baris/euphs were on scaffolding duty. It had it's ups and downs.
-
Current member, non-music major and I drive 2-4 hours to camps.
-
Marched one year, marching this year. I was a theater major when I was in school.
-
Wow. What a prediction...no one's ever said that on here before. And I'm sorry, but it's a competitive activity. Anyone who doesn't come in 1st is a loser.
-
March my ageout year.
I think somebody else should make it their resolution to sponsor me.
This.
-
I know it wont win, but Cadets 2000 has a special place in my heart.

Many corps have practice sites far from their hometowns. Blue Devils practice on Mars, yet still call Concord, CA, home.
Why did I lol so hard....
-
For Hannukah I got my parents/family paying for drum corps this summer :D
I got money for corps dues, a pair of headphones, and the first volume of music from Glee.

My prediction:
The kids will wake up, eat, stretch and run, rehearse, eat, Ensemble and run-thru, perform their show to the best of their ability, feel good about what happened and so will the crowd, they will hear their scores while eating a snack, they will hop on the bus, travel to the next show/rehearsal site, and do it all again. Finals will then roll around and they will do these things again, they will then take lots of pictures and cry a lot, load their eq truck for the last time, go home, and then miss it all until November rolls around....anyone wanna bet against me on this one?
That is by far the most improbable thing I've ever heard.
