  1. Hey I'm your typical poor college student, who can't seem to find what he is looking for, for the right price. I was hoping that someone was getting rid of a Kanstul Power Bore G Soprano and would be willing to send it my way. If you have one, let me know for what price and we can talk from there. Thank you ahead of time and hope to hear from you soon.

  2. Symphonic Memoirs from the Mother-Land

Its still has a ring that I like. I will never spend two hours of my practicing (beer drinking) to ever help you name a show again!

    Regardless...

The season is going rock. The entire corps has put a lot of work into the show this year and we are ready to embark on a journey that will never be forgotten.

How about that trumpet line, those guys rock... and so does Brandon... Most of the time... he can play... he can march... but it doesn't go together... But we love him.

Thanx Country... I'm glad I can do each thing seperately....but not together...maybe I'll fix that this weekend...we'll see...

Everyone should come check out this corps, we are on fire and ready to show our audience tonight what we got....

Let's go show them what we've got Cru...

  3.

You should really listen to GR recordings from years past before making a statement like this

That is my fault my lack of English skills...

I meant the to say since I've been in that this will be a fine product and I got a little excited about that, sorry no harm meant

There are many good moments and such in the past as I have heard and keep listening to on some of the old recordings...

  4. Never mind that stuff! Check it out!!

Mini Corps Associates (MCA), in conjunction with Five Star Brass will sponsor the first ever MCA competition at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harrisburg on the afternoon of the Serenade in Brass. We will be posting the mini corps lineup, show format, etc. soon.

    So, SAVE THE DATE!

If you are coming to Serenade In Brass Saturday evening, plan on attending this historic competitive event (just up the street from the Forum) on Saturday afternoon. You will not be disappointed!

Yahoooo....now we can really show what the mini-corps are and what really an awesome time it is.

  5. The White Sabers Drum and Bugle corps has hired Dan Jones as their Color Guard Caption head and designer. To give you some resent history of Mr. Jones, his high school guard called the Amethyst Gold Color Guard, won the MYCGC championships in SA-1 the past 2 years, placed 12th in WGI finals in 2004 and 8th at WGI in 2005. Dan is also president of the Mid-York Color Guard Circuit since 1999. Dan is the director of the Johnstown High School field band which competes very successfully in the New York State Field Band Conference. Dan was the Color Guard Caption head for the Rochester Crusaders in the early 90’s. The Sabers are very excited to have Dan join our staff.

The Saber Guard will meet at the next camp on Sunday, December 17th at 9am to 2pm at the Livingston County Hampton Corners complex. Directions can be obtained at their website: www.whitesabers.org

    Thank you,

    Mark Gerber - Director

    White Sabers

Congrats on the addition, he should be a great asset to your corps this year.

  6. The biggest problem I had with the venue was the selling of beer inside the venue where if people weren't interested in the Corps that was on tend to talk it up, I have absolutely nothing against partaking in beverages, but for someone like myself (Drum Corps hearing impaired) it was difficult to hear the Corps on stage with all the talking in the background. With all those people in closed quarters it does get loud even though your not trying to be loud. Maybe if they sold the beer outside the doors and you weren't interested ina particular Corps you just hang out there until the Corps was finished, just a thought..

I completley beleive this, when I was down in the audience, I was close to the front and it was rough trying to listen to some of the other groups that were on the stage. I do also agree that selling of all of that stuff is fine, but take it to another room or outside the door. It is only right to give all of the corps the same courtesy when they perform, whether you like them or not it is just good way to act.

  7. Can't you feel the LOVE???

When I saw a post that bragged about the most 2nd place finishes.......I just couldn't resist.

'Cause 2nd place is the first loser. Now "Dougie" is mad at me. If Doug wants me to apologize, I refer him to the "FORMAL APOLOGY" thread. Once you've checked that thread out, you'll see that I know how to apologize.

    Dougie was mean to me.

Lol Dougie can be like that, we all get on that side of him at one point or another, and you know 2nd place isn't as bad as it seems, because 2nd place may be the first looser, but look at movies and stuff, 2nd place people are usually the ones who work their hardest for what they do. Just my opninion that's all.

  8. Well I don't really know what to say about all of these possible rule changes that would take place, but I am sure the decision makers at the Rule's Congress will hopefully make the best ones. In my opinion I agree with a lot of the others out there saying that I beleive that are main focus as a mini-corps should be entertainment, this way to make it fun for both the musicians as well as the audience. This congress really could change the mini-corps spectrum forever, so I think that all of you that are going need to do us all a favor, and help mini-corps stand out as much as possible.

  9. Mini-corps in my opinion are better then major big normal DCA corps because I personally think that there is a higher level of quality with the players in the mini corps. Now just to clarify I have no problem with anything that happens in the big corps, and I actually go and attend shows because I love going to see them and if I had the time participate in them. Having just the 21 people in the corps I think provides a level that no bigger corps can have, because at times they can be scrounging to find people to put in their lines just to make it look more full. Also along with the person limit the time limit is nice because it kinda tells people hey we have 10 minutes to do the best we can, and I don't know about any other player in a mini corps but after one of those shows we are tired because we have done all that we can. I recommend mini corps to anyone with a high playing ability, because it allows you the ability to be a little more musical and anyways you have a blast. If your having fun then there's nothing wrong with it. Hope this helps.
