  1. I aged out in 79 after being in corps for 12 years. I remember the last homecomig at our V.F.W. post. I was so bummed out. The old vfw guys came running out to give us a beer and eager to talk with us about the final tour as they did each year. My closest friend captured this pic of me hanging up my uniform for the last time. I vowed at that time that I would march again one day. I went on to teach marching bands and color guards for several years. I plan to march with the Lakeshoremen Sr. Corps in 2007.
  2. FYI...There are a few old corps photos in the Memories of Marion and the U.S. Open thread.
  3. You got most of them. The year is 1975. This is the corps in order of placement at finals. 1. Madison Scouts 2. Oakland Crusaders 3. Blue Stars 4. Troopers 5. Squires 6. Saints 7. Freelancers 8. Vagabonds 9. Marquis 10. Argonne Rebels 11. Precisionaires 12. Grenadiers The 13th corps is the Class A winner for 1975 Greece Cadets.
  4. I think that's Argonne Rebels on the far right. The Finleyville Royal Crusaders are in there.
  5. What a shame. All the previous pics I posted are gone. I have no idea why. It's something to do with image shack I guess.
  6. Saginaires Drum Majors accepting 1978 Class A Championship Trophy. Ah yes U.S. Open. I have many cherrished memories from that show over the years. I'll never forget winning class A in 1978 with the Saginaires. The story the next day in the Marion Star was awesome. We always stayed downtown. I loved how so many corps were so close and you could walk around the streets and listen to the horn lines practicing. I recall being blown away watching Cadets of Greece hornline practice one year.
  7. No doubt, great CF on the PR photo. Thanks to Jen (Saginaires/Northern Aurora) for sending me these photos her father took to post here.
