    I just watch the video of Regiment from DATR this past weekend. Am I seeing things or did someone greatly overshoot thier dot( or spot) at the beginng and was almost pushed or pointed to the right spot my another marching member? Just looked kinda odd because it's something you normally don't see. I believe this is all new drill in the beginning correct?

    Forget the audience, let's think about some shows this year + alcohol...

    BLUECOATS: The Knockout meets Jackie Chan's Drunken Masters..."ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THE #### BELL!!!"

    BLUE DEVILS: People fall off tight ropes. They're pretty much doing part of the roadside sobriety test as it is...

    BLUE KNIGHTS: The show starts to make melodic sense. Prep steps involve tripping neighbors.

    BLUE STARS: Drunken bike collisions!

    CROWN: "Was that the end? Cause I really REALLY have to pee! Whaddya mean, no?"

    CAVALIERS: The only thing that could make the show more Japanese - SAKE!

    COLTS: "Wooh, what a night! It's day already?! Oh, my head!"

    CROSSMEN: "Welcome to Planet Exsh..."

    GLASSMEN: Nothing says carnival like cheap beer...

    SCOUTS: "Come share some tequila with me, my little green scaled friend..."

    PHANTOM: "I...AM...SHPART...No, seriously guys, I am Spartacus...hey, Drum Major, my friend and I were having a little discussion, and - AAA!!! Whadja do that for?!"

    SPIRIT: Peri...pero...paradiddle, no...wait, it's perifa...

    VANGUARD: One, two...um...two...um...wait wait, did I say one?

    TROOPERS: (Already miming alcohol consumption.)

    You don't need them if you know how to make good, smooth transitions with your guard. And yes the judges do look for these things. There are some exceptions though when I feel it enhances the show.

    They are also used for when the guard is changing their costumes or parts of them. This way your eye is not drawn to what's going on with them instead of what's happening on the field.

    Santa Clara Vanguard Completes Year-long Restructuring

    with Appointment of Jeff Fiedler as First Chief Executive Officer

    Santa Clara, CA -- (April 27, 2008) -- As the final step of a year-long restructuring effort, Santa Clara Vanguard, a non-profit youth performing arts organization, has appointed Jeff Fiedler as its first chief executive officer. Vanguard board chairman Marc Hebert made the announcement this weekend at the conclusion of the organization's April rehearsal camp.

    Fiedler's appointment is the final piece of an organizational restructuring that began last summer as a complete review of Vanguard's governance model, bylaws, board makeup, financial plan and management team. In his role, he reports to Vanguard's board of directors, and directs an organization led by Jeff Pearson, Program Manager; Kathy Serksnis, Chief Operating Officer; and Sandra Adams, Bingo Manager.

    "Santa Clara Vanguard holds a very dear place in the hearts of drum corps fans as an organization steeped in aura and rich tradition," said Hebert. "Until recently, our operations were perhaps overly traditional, and ready for modernization. I am very pleased with the steps we have now taken to make ourselves more agile and adaptive to today's highly-competitive climate."

    I have a few questions as I'm sure a lot of people will.

    1) Would they be able to come back under the original name of Suncoast Sound?

    2) Since the "prospective" corporate sponsor if from the Tampa area, would the corps be based in Tampa?

    3) Is the sponsor Circle K ?

    4) Would they try to come back as world class?
