  4. We now have more percussion equipment then we know what to do with! What a problem to have! Anyone looking to supplement or get a new battery? Give us a shout at our web site highcountrybrass.org. to get a list of equipment that will soon be on sale. Cool stuff, now we really have to get some more drummers! 3 complete batteries, 6 mallet instruments, 6 or 7 concert basses, 2 full sets of chimes, 5 timps, more heads and stands and sticks than I ever imagined, concert toms coming out of our ears and a ton of misc stuff! We purchased a huge close out of Premier parts as well. If you need rims, tensoners etc we probably have what you need. Now we have to build out our trailer to move everything. Mike

Thanks to Premier and to Fred Morris from the Trooper's for their help! New management team for this season and we are adding staff people to help with the battery, horn line and visual. Our show music has been in the hands of the corps for the last few weeks and we have the opener uner our fingers and are working on cleaning our opener. 3 Performances for winter guard and percussion this month! We are moving outdoors next month and are looking forward to our DCA eval with Amber! We just received our final 501C3 designation and have satisfied DCI's requirements to be a member as an all age corps. Our show consists of all original music by John Meehan and we believe it is both entertaining and challenging to play. Our guard is growing and we have a very dedicated group of folks working hard to put together a really outstanding show. Our intentions to perform include: Rocky Mountain Rondevous in Denver, Drums along the Rockies, Drums along the plains, The big DCA Minnesota weekend in St peter and St Paul as well as attending finals weekend in Rochester! Let's get the show on the road. See you on the field. Mike Ryan

We are in the midst of working for our spring preview show on June 20 at Englewood stadium. We will be performing with the Blue Knights and the Casper Troopers. We are as always thankful for the support of our newly emerging corps from Mark Arnold and Fred Morris . 23. Hi all! Due to recent changes at High Country Brass, Jon Sandford the director of the corps has announced open auditions for Drum Major for the 2009 spring and summer season! High Country Brass is also very pleased to announce that we are in the process of gaining membership not onlywith DCA but also DCI as an all age corps! This is very exciting news for HCB. We have set our schedule very aggressivly including 3 summer field shows in the Denver area as well as attending the two show weekend in the Minneapolis area in August 2009. We are planning on attending DCA finals in Rochester over the labor day weekend as well. Needless to say, we are very excited about the upcoming challenges facing our corps! Check our website at www.HighCountryBrass.org for info on how to join HCB and to see the rehearsal schedule. Can't wait for the summer! See you on the Field, Mike Ryan (The "other" Mike Ryan) HCB
  24. I was impressed with the politicos who came to the meeting last Saturday! Nice to see people who really understand the impact that 12 million dollars into their economy makes! That's not including what everyone spent there over the weekend. We all enjoyed the nice hotel at a good rate and the unusual meeting venue. Thanks to the organizers of this weekend. Rochester is a nice city and we wouldn't mind traveling there for Prelims and finals. My only concern for any location for finals is that it be located near a major airport to minimize plane changes and higher airfares form non hub cities. It makes a huge difference to our membership wheather to travel or not if the option is to pay either pay $400 for a weekend of competition at an easily accessible location, or to pay $700 or $800 to a smaller city/airport. By the way,we paid R/T from Denver $245.00 per seat. I found that it was about $100.00 less than flying to Buffalo plus we would have had to rent a car for the weekend.
  25. We had a very insiteful weekend at the congress! Thanks to all of the "old hand" corps who willingly answered any and all question from our rookie group! High Country Brass is verey excited about the 2009 season and we are looking forward to being on the filed under the new Class A guidelines set this weekend! I most enjoyed meeting Mike from the cabs! LOL Right on brother. The Other Mike Ryan
