WANTED: COLOR GUARD INSTRUCTOR / TECH The Norwin High School Marching Band and Indoor Color Guard in North Huntingdon, PA is accepting applications for the position of Color Guard Instructor/Technician. Candidate should possess strong flag, weapon and dance/movement skills. Previous marching/teaching experience is recommended. Attendance at all rehearsals, performances, and band camp is required. Pittsburg is exciting, it’s nice to have a regional back in Pennsylvania. I anxiously await the announcement of that location as well! I heard that the Pittsburgh regional is supposed to be held at Norwin High School.

["Time to Say Goodbye" had only been done once (before this year), but it was off limits to me. If you can't do it better than someone else did it, don't do it! WOW, that's about all I can say to that........... Norwin is a great guard and they did a great job with THEIR version of Time to Say Goodbye. Give them credit for that.

I do remember the inferno show.....great show Not sure what you mean by Norwin not having the finesse and nuance but if I recall correctly, their flags were pretty good and they threw several ensemble 6's and one performer threw a 7 I believe not to mention several 5's i saw. I'm not sure I saw many other Open or World guards doing that. So yes, they were definately monsters on their rifles, but I also thought they had alot of depth in their program. I believe their designer is Jim Olson from Miamisburg. They have had some very well designed shows the last few years. And they definately faired the best out of all the guard promoted from last year. Again, just think they had a bad run in finals.......

When looking at the SO scores, Norwin was only .2 behind Chino and Northmont only .8 behind them. And if you look at the scores in prelims and semi-finals, Norwin beat everyone up and through Marion Catholic. They just had a bad run in finals. If anything, I think if you were going to promote Chino on up, you should promote Northmont on up. IMHO
