  1. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I am sorry you took exception to my response, however I do not see my response as self-righteous, but rather as a clarification. Seeing how I am far more familiar with my circumstances than you are I think I am far more able to determine if there is a legal basis for a claim. If you look, my request was, I would be very grateful if you, and the others who are pursuing the legal aspect of this thread would kindly not convert our personal difficulty into a political statement. I do appreciate your time, your right to your opinion and your interest. I also would like to thank those who took the time to share their experiences, suggestions, support and kindness. I apologize for this becoming a charged issue. It was never my intent.
  2. It is not and will not become a litigated matter. There is no case of abuse or neglect or placing the marcher in danger. Drum Corps is a physical activity with high demands. Injuries happen. Medical care was sought and given. The injury itself was severe enough to warrant cesstation. That is not the fault of the corps, the staff, or even the marcher. It is a simple issue to the frailtiy and culpability of the human body. Please don't mistake the intent of this post as seeking to place blame. I was merely asking for some support from others who have experienced injury and the difficulties it brings on and that we could perhaps benefit from the compassionate sharing of others who have first hand experience with this situation. We do not care to become a rallying point for litigation or discussion based on it.
  3. My child had to come home after injuring a knee so badly that continuing to march isn't an option. It's been very upsetting for my child and the whole family who supported their marching carreer. Kind of feel lost to have our summer of following the corps, making trips to volunteer, planning for finals, a season so full of promise and now it's all tossed to the wind. Is there anyone out there who had a season cut short by injury that can share some experience that might help us along? I know on here I usually see the "Marching Opportunity due to Injury" posts but rarely hear the story from the other side. Any help would be appreciated.
