I think if bars and restaurants would stay open late so fans could hanged out and get food and drink after the shows this would make a huge difference for all fans.
This was a big thing for me when I attended in 2011. I will be back this year but will be on staff with a corps this time. My experience will not be the same as the regular attendee.

I know of at least one corps who has had to go back to the drawing board due to just this reason.
(Assuming we find out which corps this is)
It will be interesting to see if at the end of the season the "new" show this corps does, ends up being better than what they had originally planned.

In the art of satire, one does not make exact references but allusions whose illusions convey the point and perhaps evoke the laugh.
I know, some say Art Satire didn't make the cuts so he didn't march here.
I was clarifying for those that read this board who are not familiar with your schtick.

While Brasso was practicing how to be a prune in his tanning sessions with his Tampa troubadours at Lakeland H.S,,
You mean Lakewood Ranch High School which is located in Bradenton, FL. There is a different school called Lakeland High School which is located in Lakeland, Florida.

Good point but we've had DMs for scores for ever but yes, perhaps as they travel further distances between shows, that may be a factor. I'm just feel it's the $$$ to rent a field, stadium for a show.
You could also be right.
I also can see the fact that last season we had scores online before some shows actually announced scores is part of this too.
Regardless, or as they say in Alabama, irregardless, it will be interesting if this actually happens what residual change if any we will notice.

I suspect it holds corps up from packing and getting on the road after the show.
Something else to possibly factor in that no one has mentioned is the drivers. There are mandated rules that affect the bus drivers. They can only be up, awake, and driving for a certain number of hours and the show hours count since they drive to the show.

Loved how you hear the photographer snapping photos during Regiment's ballad.

whatever is the choice, I hope it is WAY less spandex and gymnastics uniforms for the horn and drumlines
I was recently shuttling some members to and from the airport and and corps winter camp. The conversation turned to the new uniform the corps is expected to get for this season. The member who is a multi-year vet said they just wanted more spandex in the pants so that they could do the visuals that staff wants. Last season they had difficulty and ripped a lot of pants as a result.

There have been many posters trying to craft this into a Crown versus Boston debate....it is vastly more expansive and complex than that...that's all I'll say for now...
I have no doubt that that is indeed the case.

That is just ONE example...you make it sound like it only happened to this one kid. WRONG...you really don't want me to drop a bombshell over another corps that was aggrieved by this behavior...trust me that will create a firestorm that makes this look like a small blip on a radar screen more than you would imagine..please don't push it...
Hmmm

Well played Oregon Crusaders, well played.

80 horns + 18 battery + 16 fe leave 36 for the guard and vocal ens. I doubt they'll march 28 guard.
heck a lot corps march 72 now -- there's your 8 VE members right there.
Don't forget 2- 3 DM's

Good luck! Wonder where they are cutting MMS to accommodate 8 vocalists.
My hunch is the hornline but I could be wrong.

I have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott which is attached to the JW. Courtyard over looks the river, park, NCAA museum and hornline warmup area if you are on a high floor. I walked to LOS using the skywalks. It wasn't bad but further away as some above have pointed out. It is closer to the hornline warmup park if that is important to you. The is a TGIFridays downstairs of the Marriott complex.
