  1. Not just wright Eddy, the rules for international corps are : be the best of the international corps and the best of them have to score within the best 12 DCI Open Class Corps, so to semi-finals 17+ 1 and to finals 12 + 1. Beatrix' arrives at the USA on July 17 at night, with 40 horns, 19 batt, 8 front, 20 guard and 2 DM, accoponied with total 43 staf and supportstaf, first show will be in Buffalo. Beatrix' will travel with 3 coaches, their own equipenttrailer and their own foodtruck, 2 vans and a motorhome, some other shows are : Hamilton, Sudbury, Hornell, Allentown, Dayton and of course Michigan City. The show is calles The city with music form Face Of, Haniball and Mr Bo Jangle. Greeting and hope to see you all at Bloomingtom.
  2. Hi SuperSmashBrothers, About Beatrix, we will be in competition as an International corps into the Open Class. If we want to go through to semi-femils than we have to be somewhere between 17 and 1. If we succed in that than in semi-finals there will be 17 US open corps and 1 International corps.
  3. Hi People, about Beatrix, the corps will participate this summer at the Open Class competion as an International Corps and wil appear in Michigan City. BUT, if Beatrix want's come to Indi to the semi-finals they have to score into the 17 other Open Class Corps. If Beatrix succeed in this, than in Indi there will be 17 Open Class Corps and nr 18 as International Corps. So for Beatrix there will be competion enough for ranking top 17, but they do not kick out nr 17 of the Open Class Corps (former Div II and III). I think you must rembember that Beatrix does this trip for the 6th time and give a lot of kids - average age of Beatrix this year is about 21 - the opportunity to take part of the drum corps scene and that's a very big important thing. In one of the coming months there will be an article in Drum Corps World about the differences between US and Europe. Way of live, schoolsystems, schoolbands and a lot more are reasons why just like Beatrix is an all age corps.
  4. Goodmorning Eddie, Yes the biggest reason why european drumcorps cannnot competite within the DCA is that in europe and a specialy the Netherlands schoolholiday is from end of June till end of August and also for those who have a job, that period is the possibility to take off their work. In Europe , and of course the Netherlands, schoolssystem is a lot difference than the USA, there are also some more big difference and maybe some time there will be an article written about the differences between drumcorps USA and Erope / the Netherlands.
  5. In my opinion it works on this way, Beatrix' is an international corps, compete in the Open Class, if they want to be come International Champion, they have to place them at Finals of the Open Class. At that finals there would be than 12 Open Class Corps and 1 International. So, ofcourse they have to compete and earn there place, because otherwise it would be a very cheap championship. They have to work just that hard as others.
