I remember hearing about a starting gun towards the end of the show, and how it would be fired at the 11 minute mark, therby stoping all judging except for GE, so corps would save all the technical stuff for the end. I'm not sure if I believe this, but if its true I'd love to hear all the details about it (and any examples of corps who did the really technical stuff) if this is in fact true.

i was just about to attempt this, but you beat me to it i personally like the 2002 Magic of Orlando judge tenor player marching backwards falls over kettle drum being pushed by colorguard (who dropped her rifle so is late in pushing it), does a complete back sumersault, the drums rolling over and completly off of him. the perc. judge stops judging and runs over to the fallen tenor player to make sure he is ok kudos to the judge and to the tenor player for running back in there

Although I am not very happy about the new rules either, marching in a World Class/Div. 1 corps has been my dream ever since I first saw drum corps. I've wanted it more than anything else in the world, and now that I am finally getting to live out my dream, it saddens me that someone is thinking about making it so hard on a corps that I might not be able to even choose between DCI and DCA in 2009. Like I said, I don't like these new rules, and the thought that the sound I produce out of my horn might be overpowered by somebody plucking a string is absolutely frightening to me, but im sure there is another way to go about bringing our opinions to DCI.

did crown want this to be released? i havent read anything about it anywhere else...

My friend just introduced me to CorpsData (http://trigonroad.com/cd/default.cfm). It seems kinda like the MySpace for anyone who's ever been involved with Drum Corps. I'm still trying to figure out all of it, it seems pretty cool. I'd like to know what everyone else thinks of CorpsData.

I'm suprised nobody has said the Bluecoats yet. I know they suprised just about everyone last year with that show at some point. I'm curious to see what they are going to put ont the feild this year...

I'm not 100% on this, but I was talking to one of BD's colorguard members, and allthough he wouldn;t tell me exactly what their show was, he told me that it is going to be traditional BD. Loud, in your face, and VERY jazzy. He also said that BD doesn't release their show untill after they have set the corps for the season, so I am anticipating an announcment from them after their next camp...

I love An American Elegy. Its such an amazingly moving piece. I hope the cadets can create the same effect with Elegy as they can with Hymnsong. As long as they don't talk over it, I looking forward to how they are going to interpret the music of Ticheli this year.

With most of the corps programs for 2008 released, (I know we are still waiting on a few corps), which show do you anticipate as being your favorite from this year, and why? Im not talking first place, just your favorite.

Im not sure about the rest of the brassline, but I am 95% sure that SCV is using Dynasty Contras this year...

Well, being a newer fan to Drum Corps, I love it when my friend's parents put on the TV to show me those 'older' corps. Its cool to see where DCI came from, and how its evolved. If there was a way to make money of it, and DCI was willing, I personally would like to see a CC devoted to, well, the classics.
