In addition, the Targets invite color guard members with weapon experience who can toss at least quads on rifle and saber to join us this weekend. Flag experience is not required; skills will be taught. The Main Audition day is Saturday, April 12th, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 P.M. The Color Guard staff will review show concepts (flag and uniforms design) and introduce the technique program. Drill rehearsal will take place on the 12th as well. On Sunday, April 13th, rehearsal will go from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 P.M. The Color Guard section goal for Sunday is to finalize the color guard roster , and continue teaching color guard work. Color Guard Design is by Jay Surreira and Tim Germaine, with Missy Germaine and MaryAnne Robertson rounding out the Color Guard staff. They bring many years of marching and teaching experience - as well as passion and drive - to the Targets. Just a reminder that, now that the Targets are outside and working on drill, and parades are coming up, that ew need a volunteer to drive the Equipment Truck for the Spring and Summer Competitive Season. The Targets Drum & Bugle Corps from Springfield, Massachusetts need someone to drive the equipment truck locally to parades and rehearsals in the Springfield, MA and Northeast (NYS, CT, NH, and MA) areas, and a driver or two for competition season, when our shows are in the Northeast, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.   19. The Targets Drum & Bugle Corps from Springfield, Massachusetts, are pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Coleman as the 2008 Targets Drum Major. Robert Coleman is a 2004 graduate of Douglas S. Freeman High School (Richmond, Virginia). He brings to the position many years of music experience – including a history as conductor/musical director of various instrumental and choral ensembles along the east coast. Robert currently resides in Nashua, New Hampshire as an undergraduate student at Daniel Webster College, where he is pursuing degrees in Aviation Flight Operations and Aviation Management. “The Targets Drum & Bugle Corps is at a crucial turning point within the organization’s history – as Drum Major I do not tread lightly over the responsibilities in which I have been entrusted. At all times, I shall hold myself - and the members - to the highest standards of excellence. I truly look forward to a remarkable season and the opportunity to create friendships and memories that will last a lifetime!” Auditions are still open for Assistant Drum Majors. While drum majoring experience is preferred, the Targets staff will work with someone with less experience who shows superior leadership and musicianship skills, attitude, and responsibility. We need someone to drive the equipment truck locally to parades and rehearsals in the Springfield, MA and Northeast (NYS, CT, NH, and MA) areas, and a driver or two for competition season, when our shows are in the Northeast, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. No CDL License is required to drive our 1986 GMC truck, which is a manual. The Targets were re-organized in late 1995, joined Drum Corps International Division II/III in 2000, and will compete in Open Class in 2008. They are going on tour to DCI Championships!   24. The 2008 Targets Drum & Bugle Corps from Springfield, Massachusetts continue to have an exciting winter season, with lots of growth, energy and enthusiasm. Join the Targets as they prepare for the 2008 DCI season - and tour! The Targets will compete in Open Class. The next rehearsal is on Sunday, March 2nd from 12:00 - 5:00 P.M. . . . . . . at Greenleaf Community Center at 1188 Parker Street in Springfield, MA. Directions to Targets Rehearsal. The Greenleaf Community Center is a newly renovated facility that reopened on September 28, 2007. The renovation project included a new gym facility, new restrooms, offices, a new kitchen facility, improved building access and landscaping. This is a comfortable rehearsal site for this growing DCI Open Class Corps! The Targets have a few openings in the Brass, Percussion, and Color Guard sections, and have announced auditions for Drum Majors. Brass-wise, the Targets are recruiting for 1 Lead Soprano, 1 Contra, and a couple of Baritones. The Percussion section has open spots for 1 more Snare, Tenor and Bass.
