Wow, this sounds pretty wild!! One question isnt it a conflict of interest for all of the staffs.....not to mention a ton of companies and various sponsorships.... also how can anyone judge another group in the state of florida who would be associated under that umbrella? just wonderin...

2009 Riptide Auditions, Tommorow night in Jacksonville Sponsored by Teal Sound Inc.! The Audition Days are an opportunity for you to get to know us and for us to see your strengths as a performer and musician. This is also a chance for you to immerse yourself in three (3) days of percussion education. We have lots to do and learn over the next few weeks. No matter what your level of experience, and as long as you make an effort to attend every camp and performance with a positive attitude, work hard, be professional, bring enthusiasm and passion every time we meet, you will have a spot somewhere in the ensemble. That’s all we as a staff and organization will ask! We are excited to be competing in the Independent A Class Marching Percussion Division. Plans are underway to bring you the best and most creative show possible. The staff is being set, facilities reserved, and the best equipment available is being secured. We will participate in the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit contests as well as the WGI ORLANDO REGIONAL at the end of February. The PRIMARY GOAL of the Teal Sound, Inc. and the Riptide Percussion Ensemble is to create something amazing, that is educational, and will allow you as a performer and musician to grow and mature as well as exciting our audiences. We want to help you learn to work well and communicate with others, to always set high standards and goals, to expect nothing less than your very best and to set out and reach for one common goal together as a group of diverse individuals. The staff that will be serving and teaching you, has many years of experience as performers, arrangers, educators and spectators. WE are also here for one common goal... to help you succeed and be the BEST you can be!! So whether you are attending our Audition Days as an auditionee, or just out of curiosity, we hope you will enjoy what we have to offer and walk away learning something new as a percussionist, a musician, a performer and maybe make a few new friends along the way as well…. Word is being spread over the last 24 hours of a possible staff change throughout Teal Percussion and other sections based on the website?.... any word?.......

Yeah so what hell happened with the scores?....... The top brass scores only separated by a .1 or so...... could the judge not make decision at the 1st humongous open class show? the 2nd -5 drum corps were also separated by a .1 or so......... and what's up with the BOX drum judge?.... numerous inconsistencies..... such as Teal being 2nd on the field but 6th and the box and even SCV falling prey to this guy......probably called the show.........

Teal Sound still is in need of a couple of members to fill out the 2008 color guard. If you are interested in marching this summer, please contact Budd Williams at budd@tealsound.org immediately. This weekend's camp begins Friday evening at Middleburg High School in Middleburg, FL. Directions are on the website.
