Psh. I just pull off my socks. Using fingers and toes I can count to 37.

BD has mastered the Transition, They make an entire show out transitions and that is all that is ever judged. And in between the transitions very hard music book that is being expertly performed.
At a standstill. I counted 30 seconds of a 9 minute video where the ENTIRE brass line was playing AND moving at the same time. The combination of elements has been sorely lacking from BD for probably a decade... but since the judges (apparently) no longer look for that, why bother? Pose and play, then jazz run to your next prop, and repeat. Aside from guard, BD's visual design has gotten EXTREMELY stale to me. There's absolutely no individual difficulty to BD's books beyond simple endurance; it's all sacrificed for staging and transitions.

Uniform Reaction:
I look forward to trying the Don Warren IPA from the new Cavaliers microbrewery. Hopefully they'll stop picking hops long enough to put a good show on the field this summer.

I thought I took OC out. Let me fix that.

On the field they look fine.
Not sure why corps create all these studio images of their uniforms.
They never reflect what the uniform looks like under the lights on a field.
The uniform companies want those studio images for their portfolio so they can market to the thousands of competitive high school marching bands in the country.

I just signed up, how do I register my corps to participate in this season? They are:
Div. 1: Cobalt Guard
Div. 2: Cobalt Legion
Div. 3: Cobalt Cadets
I have to manually create entries for every new member. Your corps should be active now.

You do it for baseball and football, why not for drum corps?
Create your own corps, set up your tour schedule, then spend your points plugging in actual DCI corps into your captions. You think you can track scores and trends better than anyone else? Prove it! Sign up today!

Any thoughts of getting a post into the main general discussion area? DCP mods go for it? It would be nice if we could and see if some publicity could get some new directors involved. Summer is the best game!
It rarely seems to generate much interest, so this season I was going to wait until the season was almost upon us. I'll post one this weekend.

A reminder: the Class A general effect cap is still in place. Santa Clara Vanguard, Blue Devils, Bluecoats, Carolina Crown, and Boston Crusaders cannot be used for Class A GE captions.

With this change did the cap of GE in A go away? It couldn't be higher than 20 pts previously but with this change that would be very low! Are we just forgoing for this season?
The GE Rule for Class A is no one in the Top 5. That remains in effect. So with the point adjustment, now it can't be higher than 25 points.
Or, if it's easier to remember: Santa Clara Vanguard, Blue Devils, Bluecoats, Carolina Crown, and Boston Crusaders cannot be used for Class A GE captions.

I'm not entirely sure how to get corps registered, so I'm just posting them here
World Class: Legionnaires
Open Class: Lone Stars
A Class: Crusaders of the Gulf Coast
Hello Bloooo,
I got your email with your corps setup info, but I'm about to go out of town for a week. I will have them set up before the season starts, probably at the end of next weekend. I thank you for your patience.

I am participating, I'd like to just run Thoroughbreds in Class A
Just don't choose captions or tour schedules for the others. You can play only one corps if you want.

A Class: L'Etoile du Nord BShould be fixed now, let me know if it's right.

Updates and information to the threads in the DCPI Rules Congress subforum regarding small changes to the upcoming season.
My goal is to get everything online this weekend.
-
Since no World Class corps aside from the now defunct Pioneer has placed lower than 30th in Prelims, the new costs this season will range from 1 (Jersey Surf) up to 30 (Vanguard).
To accommodate that, the starting points for each class have been bumped up to 180 (World), 150 (Open), and 120 (Class A). The ending point pool for each class is still being determined, but will likely be 195-200 (World), 160-162 (Open), and 125ish (Class A).
-
Indeed, this will just be too difficult to implement and will not be activated.
-
That's the plan. CLASS Champs in Bowling Green, KY (hosted by the Nastalgia organization) per usual, and FANFARE Champs in Milwaukee Metro, WI (hosted by Forward Dynamics/Polaris Regiment). Dates TBD.

Hello all,
Is there still interest in Season 29 this Summer? My plan as of right now is to work on setting the league up in May and opening registration and captions around the 1st of June.
-
Yes, I am having thoughts. Not sure if this will be implemented, or if I'll just move on without them. TBD.
