Father,
I have come to understand that there are two types of people around, those who understand drum corps & those, no matter how ones tries to explain it, who don't get drum corps. It is the same with God. I have read most of the replies that have been left in response to your thoughts and sure enough, those who live with God get it & those who don't, don't. Duh!! God used to be part of drum corps, does anyone remember "Color Pres", St Lucy’s, St. Kevin’s, ...on & on? Once "they" took out the American Flag and what she represented - God & America’s Golden Ideals, drum corps began to her passion for honor, of what is good and right. It is OUR drum corps heritage. But, you see you can't say that because we live in world that believes nothing is good or right because it refuses to say that something, therefore, has to "bad & wrong". No, no can't say that. This whole thought is just so hypocritical, because what makes drum corps what it is, is the drive towards Perfection. For anything to be perfect there has to be, by definition, “Clear Lines” of Right & Wrong. And where do you think these “Clear Lines” come from? Man? Wrong!!! Men can’t agree on anything. The whole idea of perfection comes from God. "Music is perfect because it belongs to God". Perfection has never been and will never be an accident. Anyone who loves drum corps knows what perfection is like, has a very slight idea of what God is like, Perfect! No one can change that. So Father, it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks about the idea of having chaplains around, it is of God so it would be good. I worked at school for troubled kids, wards of the State. I taught them that they were awesome because God had put seeds of Greatness in them. I taught them how to be a drum corps. We had the loudest horn line in the area. The human condition loves the water of life. God Bless you Father
