  1. Agree - they have not peaked and probably won't until finals night - Cavaliers put in their new ending in Hillsboro, added a ton of visuals re-wrote a bunch of music and had to do it while fighting the weather the entire time they were there. Not to mention, they then had two very long drives a head of them going to MTSU and then to Atlanta. I would say a little tired, plus it takes more than two days to clean the amount of stuff they put in over those three days. OMG - I've never seen so many changes. Also, they are not done adding, making changes, etc.... DO NOT COUNT THEM OUT - REMEMBER 2004????

I thought this topic was about Phantom Regiment winning? It has gone off topic.

  2. No need for gunplay. I agree that they have as good a shot.

It isn't my favourite Cavaliers show of the last decade, but it's sitting in 2nd place right now with some cleaning to do....I'd say they have a better shot at the title than Regiment does.

Well IMHO I saw PR"S show last night in Atlanta and they were the best that I've seen all season!!!as far as their show is concerned I feel that somthing is missing???. I watched them perform and they seem bland lacking color. I know that Spartacus went against the Roman Empire well the Roman Empire was very colorful. So where's all the reds and purples??? they should at least have red sashes or how about the use of their old red capes especially when they form the ranks of the Roman Army as far as the other Bold colors the Color Guard can handle that. This is just one of the reasons I think that PR'S show is not winning. Lets see what happens!!!!!!
  3. Well, I know i missed the discussion on crown (though i do agree with Az on the drill thing,)

But i have a slight bone to pick with the finals scored..

I cannot understand why SCV got so low...There show was one the best i have seen them do in while, and don't even get me started on phantom (saying this in a good way coming from someone who was on the 50)

I agree with BD, and Crown scores as well as cadets. But I think that I would of put SCV in 6th...And i am going to get flamed for this but put Phantom thrid then Crown 4th

I believe that Phantom Came out and put one of the best performances out there last night.

ah this could just be the sleepiness from driving 9 hours setting in who really knows. And before anyone asks, I was there, so i am going off of what i though and the crowd reaction as well as the judges placements, and no i have not sat down and looked at the recaps

I definitely agree with you. Oh,well..that is why I am not a judge :grouphug:
  4. So.. the question? What is the OnQ stuff? - I've seen this and that on dci.org about onQ but don't know anything about it.

Its drum corp giving back to the community!

    Check out: http://www.onq.org/events/

Its Phantom Regiments time to show the local music students what corp is like, what is involved and show the students some of the finer points of music that only drum corp participation can teach them!

    Go Phantom Regiment!

    "I AM SPARTICUS!!!!!"[/font] :grouphug:

    Sweet!
  5. well for me it's boston crusaders solo feature off the line 1969 --off the line NY KINGSMEN (MALAQUANIA) 1967-off the line (MAN OF LA MANCHA) NY WARRIORS 1970- 1969 Blessed sacrament Golden Knights entire show 1974 Hawthorne Muchachos- and of course 1976 Blue Devils entire show. I have to say that there are to many other Corps to numerous for me to list. But to end it the 2008 Phantom mid range section is absolutly Phantastic

    Phantom's soloist is awesome

And does GH not have ANY responsibility for putting these kids in the firing line? This is what boggles me. This kind of post asserts that thousands upon thousands of audience members have to all act a certain way toward the kids because we're (supposedly) grown ups, but GH doesn't have to take ANY RESPONSIBILITY WHATSOEVER for putting the Cadets in the line of fire AGAIN after going through what happened last year.

Does this not bother anyone else?!?!

I, as a music director, have made some poor programming choices. Did I keep making those choices? No. I found other ways to push the limits of my ensembles because part of my job IS to protect my kids from undue criticism. They can be criticized for how well they perform, how well they maintain focus on the stage, or how well they behave before or after the show. But they will not be asked to take the heat for MY choices.

  7. Cadets? :

BLUECOATS: The Knockout meets Jackie Chan's Drunken Masters..."ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THE #### BELL!!!"

BLUE DEVILS: People fall off tight ropes. They're pretty much doing part of the roadside sobriety test as it is...

BLUE KNIGHTS: The show starts to make melodic sense. Prep steps involve tripping neighbors.

    BLUE STARS: Drunken bike collisions!

CROWN: "Was that the end? Cause I really REALLY have to pee! Whaddya mean, no?"

CAVALIERS: The only thing that could make the show more Japanese - SAKE!

COLTS: "Wooh, what a night! It's day already?! Oh, my head!"

    CROSSMEN: "Welcome to Planet Exsh..."

GLASSMEN: Nothing says carnival like cheap beer...

SCOUTS: "Come share some tequila with me, my little green scaled friend..."

PHANTOM: "I...AM...SHPART...No, seriously guys, I am Spartacus...hey, Drum Major, my friend and I were having a little discussion, and - AAA!!! Whadja do that for?!"

    SPIRIT: Peri...pero...paradiddle, no...wait, it's perifa...

VANGUARD: One, two...um...two...um...wait wait, did I say one?

    TROOPERS: (Already miming alcohol consumption.)

    Last but not least -

    PIONEER: (Way too easy!)

(Off Topic P.S. Congrats to MN DCI Fan for hereby being delcared the winner of the Best Animated Signature EVER Award!!!)
