  1. So, I was looking at the Troopers Facebook page and one note said 451! I opened it curious...it stated 451 non-vets had RSVP'd for the first November camp in Laramie. One of the comments was from one of their lead volunteers and hardest working woman in DCI, Traute Gilbert, aka Mom who stated she had only recieved 75 RSVP's for the November Camp. Now who I should I believe? Do corps have a reputation for hyping audition numbers? 75 seems a bit low, but it is Wyoming and costs a lot to fly or even drive to Laramie. So what do you guys think about this?

  2. Eh... bad straight leg back up looks like you're "bicylcing" anyway.

First of all don't talk bad about a performing group before you see or hear them. These kids perform their hearts out and learn the technique as best as possible. But hey, I bet you feel awesome about making fun of 14 to 18 year old kids who perform with all they have.

  3. No offense but that's stupid because it goes against the fundamental reason The Cavaliers march the way they do (where a midpoint snapshot of frontwards and backwards look the same).

I just get paid to help teach the technique man...the kids perform it at the best level they can...which is actually pretty high when they have a good show design.

  4. The high school I tech for uses cavalier technique for forward marching and regular straight leg for backwards. Its very fluid and since they barely halt n play it is very easy to make smooth transition for their drill which is quite hard for a highschool band. It is very tough for individuals to look exactly same which is why our first week in summer band is all basic block.
