They made it home quite ok. The EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (totally different form the Corps Director) was unable to manage a few things very well, however we were able to pull funds from a reserve that myself and my staff had set aside for financial emergencies as well as a few donations. Thank you for your concern and I am glad that there were folks in tune with our well-being.
Jake, you have such a great memory. :)We took the train to California however the train cancelled our return trip on us at the last minute which is what caused a bit of panic. We were able to fly them home, which is a much better way to travel. I wish drum corps could fly everywhere! :)

Then I stand corrected Chris, it was Rob Lowery. Good to hear they are back home, and PROPS to you and your staff in making it happen for the kids, and yes, flying is way better, wish we did that in my days, but shoot, there were no planes back then, hehehehe...

good job
so did the kids get back home ok, i understand they were stranded in Oxnard, since the corps director was not able to pay for buses for them to get to the airport. hope they made it back ok

Responsible?
Responsible management would not have committed to a full tour to Indianapolis
Responsible management would not have had tour event partners set up housing for them that they "may not use"
Responsible management would not have purchased electronic equipment, but made do with perfectly fine acoustic instruments
Responsible management would have informed the members they may not finish a season they promised.
Responsible management is Impulse.

I think i heard that from my friend who is there this summer. Man, thats no fun. I think its because they cant afford buses or something like that.

correction it is not $950 but $1050, saw paperwork that was givin out this past weekend. and they do not provide transporation to shows either. too much if i may say so myself for only 5 shows and local ones at that
-
WOW! did not know only 5 shows - their website says limited tour BUT charging $950.00 for 5 shows? OUCH, a lot of money for not traveling very far.
