  1. 2008 Phantom Regiment

    Done.

    Close thread.

(If a magic genie allowed me to take another 11 minutes, I'd take 2000 Cadets. Then I could die of starvation with a smile on my face.)

I don't know if the magic Genie will let you, but the Cadets' Demons said okay

  2. Oooh, another chance for me to make a list!

If we're being strict about the 11 minute rule, that's really about 4 songs worth. Maybe 5. I'll go with 5. And a preshow. This is hard.

2010 Carolina Crown - Mahler Symphony No. 2 (preshow)

1991 Blue Devils - Adventures in Time

2004 Cavaliers - Welcome to Cuba

2005 Cadets - Dancer in the Dark

1995 Madison Scouts - La Danza Pasillo

2003 Phantom Regiment - Ostinato / Sanctus (reprise) (Though I might replace that with 1989 Blue Devils - Johnny One Note.)

Might have gone slightly overtime there.

    Mike

    That's okay - I started with a pre-show and an encore!

    Tough isn't it!!

  3. This should take some thinking.

You can cut one CD. You have 11 minutes of time. Which charts and drum solos would you burn to take with you - any corps any year?

Drum solo BD Summer Train Blues - amazing job by ScoJo and his line

Cadets Ballad 2005 (From Dancer in the Dark) - that song was freaky amazing; loved the bass drums rhythm under that whole chart

SCV 74 Young People's Guide to a Drum Corps

    Phantom Firebird

Cavies James Bond year - The Tango

BD - When a Man Loves a Woman - they rocked this

    BD Channel One Suite

Cadets - Appalachia Spring (may not have timme for this one)

  4. I think Gibbs, Fiedler, and Hopkins will have a farm system worked; AAA, AA, and Major league and all age. The AAA corps will compete in their region, same with AA, Major league, and all age. There will be a regional playoffs and a final four (maybe 6ths or eights) at rotating venues for the championship of their level.

There will be drum and brass groups, and all instrument groups which will include woodwinds. Kids will not be able to move to another group unless they have x number of years in a regional group.

My vision of drum corps 2020

My answer is many - but more local

  5. I have 2 tickets for A-Town. 1 for each night

Section J row 31 seat 24 (same place both nights).

My wife can't go and I would like to donate this to someone that would like to go and can't afford it.

I will be at the front entrance Friday at 5:45.

Heavy set white hair and white beard (Santa like) first come first serve.

  6. Cadets seem to have fixed the drill to write out the 8th snare altogether. Snares now alternating color in drill the entire show, as opposed to the two demon snares at the end.

They're already going after perfection in execution, seems like they're committed to it in design, too!

Battery stayed back on lauindry night (Pit did their laundry) to fix the drill.

  7. Let me see if I got this right? In the 1950's the Supreme Court integrated this school and then some 60 years later The Cadets show up with a corps that is segregated between Angels and Demons. This may take a higher power that the U S Supreme Court to straighten this one out!!!

Cadets are having an exorcism done at the end of the year so the Demons can rejoin the corps

  8. Can the Cadets manage to stay on top of the Cavaliers?

First meeting of two solid Open Class groups with Oregon and Music City finally going head-to-head!

    What a show!!!

Is anyone out there that can give updates?

I think the top 3 so far are Cavs, Cadets, and BD. CC is still 4th - I think. It is conceivable that Cavs can go from a consistent 1st place corps to a 3rd place corps on any given night, also, both Cadets and BD can have the same thing happen to them. I am not counting CC out, I think they have some catching up to do again but they have the capability of doing it.

  9. There are certain judges that when I look at their scores and placement, I get a little surprise every now and then - just can't predict where they will put a corps because they place the corps where they earn that night.

There are judges that you can bet your bottom dollalr you will know before the show where they place certian corps in their caption. That is a biased judge, and I have seen some of these outcomes from certain judges.

  10. Not sure this is the correct thread, and I AM NOT trying to cause trouble.

I am serious regarding this and would just like to know

Is there a problem between Ken Turner and the Cadets. They don't seem to do well with him. I always cringe when I see his name judging a show they are in.
