Does anyone know if this Sunday show will be a night event? I would hope they are starting it earlier to accommodate people who need to travel to this.

When is the Alumni meeting? This week?
-
sounds to me from hopsblog that the crossmen are the big discussion today at the YEA! board meeting...
Board Meeting Saturday.
I do not look forward to the day.
Some decisions to be made and I am sure there will not be agreement.
It is sad to see people argue.
It is sad when it gets personal.
It is also difficult for me.
I need to keep my ego in check.Otherwise, I give too much credance to the critics.
I need to remind myself of my mission, of my work for so many years and of my responsibility to do what I believe is best for YEA! Of course all will not agree. Heck, sometimes it feels like I am in this alone.
BUT ...
I have considered options for the organization.
I have put in place the admin team.
It's time.
It is definitly time.
Any thoughts of what this means?

EDITED
We'll just have to wait to see. Don't think Virigina is the answer though, sorry
So basically, for most of Saturday you were confirming the rumor that was posted on DCP earlier in the week (and of course promptly closed) stating that Vivace Productions, INC.! (http://www.vivaceproductions.com) is looking to acquire the Crossmen- perhaps to be announced at the next Crossmen Alumni meeting?

Where was this released?

What happened to the Cadets?

Where can one find a list of Capital Regiments Board of Directors -
better yet, how many corps list them on their websites?
-
I am sure DCI was aware of the situation as after Capital Regiment made national news for heat exhaustion, they sent in the Troopers director. Where does CR get their money from? Does this director truly own the corps?
-
So basically, the director of Capital Regiment, who is not a DCI employee, is replaced by a third party mid tour? How does this structure work? Does DCI have ultimate control over who the director is? {I can hear it now- lets write DCI and get rid of Hopkins}
Meanwhile, in another thread and on the Magic message boards, Magic is eating fudge pops, their director is withdrawing funds from his personal account to keep them on tour, staff is quitting, they have no volunteers, but by the way were buying new horns. Also it appears the kids were told they weren't touring past East at one point and parents were nervous their kids were getting stranded in Allentown.
Is DCI sending someone in here to do something? Or is this just because Capital Regiment made national news when kids starting going down in the heat mid summer?
None of this is "rumors" folks, read DCP and the individual message boards of Capital Regiment and Magic and connect the dots.
-
So DCI sent in a new director? How does that work?

No penalties...

Moe Latour, Family Safe in Baton Rouge
Tuesday, September 6, 2005
Thank you from YEA! for helping!
YEA! is happy to report that long time Cadets tour manager, DCI Hall of Famer, and world renowned pod-caster Moe Latour called the office today to tell us he is safe and staying with his entire family in a Baton Rouge hotel.
In his words, Moe says he has spent the week "sitting in bed eating cookies and drinking Diet Coke."
He was able to see his house in Kenner yesterday and reports that the roof will need to be replaced but there is no water damage to his home.
Thank you to everyone that assisted in the search.
-
By googling his address the following name came up as well:
Priscilla Latour -(the phone # and address matches the phone # I have for him).
If I recall, his sister had heart problems prior to tour last summer (04) -
Moe we are thinking of you - and the many you have touched over your years in drum corps are here to help. We hope you and all the other affected drum corps fans are ok.

Dan Farrell reports that MARTY HURLEY (staff '75-'92)is safe as he and family fled to Lafayette before Katrina hit. As of now his New Orleans suburban home has not flooded, but he fears his school (Brother Martin HS) may be underwater.

Moe lives in Kenner, LA - CNN keeps broadcasting from Kenner-
If anyone has heard from him - please let us know.

Hey Joe, I have a question. It's not argumentative, and anyone else can answer. I'm curious about one thing -- your perceived idea of what was promised. When you say that "the product was less then promised", that means you had an idea of what you expected, and that the actual was short of that idea.
I'm very curious about what your idea of what was promised was. Can you elaborate?
Allow me to quote a few lines from the the attached link - to review what was promised and what was delivered.
5/04/2005 -- 2:05 PM CST
"Want to check out a photo gallery from last night in Louisville? Come here first. Want to predict the winner of DCI 2005? Do your research here. Want to get up close and personal with the Bluecoats drum major? We’ve got the video here."
"But that’s not all you get with a subscription to the DCI Season Pass."
"A subscription to the DCI Season Pass also includes access to all of our first-class live event coverage from many major regional DCI events. These will allow you to hear corps shows as they evolve over the summer."
"Our live event coverage also includes exhaustive photo galleries, thought-provoking and informative video vignettes (including interviews, parking lot warmup footage and more) as well as concise news recaps from the events."
"A subscription to the DCI Season Pass is the answer to all your drum corps needs."
The second to last paragraph troubles me the most, thought provoking and informative video vignette (Gophers) consise news recaps (rarely did they have scores on the same day) - show me the parking lot videos - where were they?
Here - this is what was promised, and we all know what was delivered.

I agree that the product was less then promised. I wonder what % of the subscribers signed up for the music from past years vs. someone like myself who signed up for the coverage. I would think most avid DCI fans have a majority of these CD's (I have all from 1990 on and now on my ipod). I expected coverage updated daily vs. what we received. Perhaps DCI should of waited a year to offer this product vs. charging and not delivering. I wonder how many people will not subscribe again.
I often think DCP with the right amount of new volunteers (seems the current ones are over-worked already) couldn't put something together that provides the fans what they want - Some of the things that come to mind:
Better score reporting options -
Major event coverage (similar to the Blue Devils and SCV's coverage);
Reviews of each shows (similar to how DCW assigns someone to each show);
Better knowledge of events and timelines (ie: why did nobody seem to know the schedule for Saturday - until they walked into the stadium).
I am sure I am just scratching the surface of what fans want - and would be happy to help.
