Musically Troopers are doing everything they need to in order to move up even though I don’t really love it. Visually they need to look over their shoulders at what Colts are doing, that’s going to continue to hold them back the rest of the season.

I think they can still fight with Cavaliers…….5/8 judges agreed yesterday. Just gotta make up ground on that absolutely monster percussion section.

Love the green flag triangle at the end of Green (thanks Michael Torke). Best that’s looked.

This was the whole TV crashing. Not turning off after an inactive. It just froze then rebooted
I do that sometimes too.

Low brass is delicious. Glad to see their brass starting to get rewarded in the last few shows.

WAY better opening from the guard today.

Blue Stars time.

I think Mandarins and PR eat Cadets lunch in terms of conceptualization/visual design. I like it a lot as a show I’ll listen to in the car but not a lot there to really dig into compared to the corps that are likely in their competitive neighborhood. They way more than have the talent.

Cadets sounded great throughout. after a terrific opening, i didn't really catch on to what was going on.
Ditto.

Prop transition there and the metal poles kill this ballad visually. Musically it’s glorious.

Cadets brass and percussion I would place a really solid 5th. Show design not sure about even though I like A LOT about it. Pacing and visual design is off.

Seems like a lot of people don’t realize the fight for 12th right now is between BK and Pacific Crest. Colts are a very clear and safe 11th at a minimum.

Speaking of which, as someone who focuses part of his work on equity and representation (including non-profit volunteering on the matter), seeing no less than THREE female center snares in World Class corps this year is wonderful. People on this board have said things like "why does it matter" when stuff like that has been pointed out in the past, but representation always matters and that's a terrific stat in what has historically been a male dominated section of drum corps.
My center snare at the school I teach is a girl. She looks up to them and notices.

Surprised that the scoring is so close between BK and PC, tbh. Maybe it’s a matter of difficulty.
I think that’s the only thing.

That brass fugue is so so so difficult.

The intent of this show is miles clearer than BK IMO. It might be a lot simpler, but the clarity in design is so much clearer.

This ballad is one of my favorite things on the field this summer. Amazing usage of trombones.

Woulda been so easy to mail in the musical selections on this show. But glad they veered from the expected.

The guy who was slow mo running at the end who is now just walking across the front doesn’t look serious, wish they’d take it out or adjust it. Kills a totally glorious movement.
