Classy!
They look fantastic! Unlike the abomination they call a uniform this year. Barf.

So any word on the "costumes" the Scouts will be wearing? Are we going to see 150 Mad Max lookalikes on the field?

I think I'd vomit if I had to sit through 8 hours of anything.
I had no problem with all day drum corps (San Antonio) but will never go again.

I think I'd vomit if I had to sit through 8 hours of WGI anything.

Tried to narrow your complaints down to something more concise.
You have problems with:

seductive
cool
madness and desire
obscurity
esoteric
enigmas
avant-guard
"sophisticated" (The one in quotes. You are OK with unquoted sophisticated)
abstract obscurities

I don't exactly see the common thread. But everyone has their likes and dislikes. Here is hoping that there is enough out there to make this summer a worthwhile venture for you.You left out prancy-dancy and artsy fartsy

No La Cueva High School love? ABQ and NM have more bands than I thought!
When I lived there La Cueva was just a desert on the outskirts of town. That's where we used to throw keggers with bonfires in high school.

For awhile there it was Mayfield from Las Cruces and El Dorado from ABQ. Rio Rancho for a short stint as well. Clovis though has indeed been king lately. Michael Cesario sometimes judges at the Zia Marching Festival.
I graduated in 1982. Mayfield and Las Cruces were very good. I went to Del Norte which at the time had the best music program in ABQ. Our drumline won high percussion in every contest for 4 consecutive years. Those were good times. Now Del norte has maybe 30 members in their marching band. It makes me sad. Glad that El Dorado still has a good program.

I grew up in Albuquerque. My high school led the way when all the bands first started "Corps Style" marching. We won just about everything until Alamogordo showed up with their 250 member bands. They were sloppy and their drumlines sucked but they were loud and it was always them or Clovis that always won.

Waffles - As in waffles.

My only question at this point is when will we see the "costume" for this year's show? Hoping for a reveal that doesn't induce vomiting.

While everyone is looking at your comment as negative...I'd like to give you a little credit...although I strongly oppose your opinion about the costumes...You are at least CONSISTENT in your opinion...EVEN when it's about the Scouts...especially about how you went on and on ad nauseum about how you hated the pajamas look on other corps over the last few seasons when different corps used them...thanks for being consistent...even when it directly affects your beloved Scouts...
Why thank you. Your attempt to both insult and compliment me in one paragraph is impressive.

If your support of a corps is as thin as what they're wearing that's pretty sad IMO.
Did you fail to read my post about not stopping my contributions?

You knew it was the Cavaliers the minute you saw them, right? That same argument could be used against a corps changing their uniform ever.
Sure but I hated those uniforms. I am starting to think I'm done completely. I stopped going to DCI shows 2 years ago and have watched online in horror at the WGI spectacle that DCI is becoming and to me its no longer entertaining. Now will I stop my yearly donation to Madison and Crossmen? Probably not.

I think the concern is that the uniforms will look unflattering or gaudy. That said, the poor attempt of the 2016 uniforms to streamline the 1988-2002 look fell entirely flat to me. I'm interested to see where they look up.
But you knew it was the Madison Scouts the minute you saw them. I thought the sash was off but other than that I liked them. Now if they go Bluecoats on me I'm going to probably have to find another favorite corps.

Hasn't been mentioned...unless I missed it....but Scouts will also be in a show-themed costume this year instead of traditional uniform.
This is incredibly bad news.

WHICH was BS. I loved Madison's show and respect it. BUT winner ding dong chicken dinner? NO
IF Madison performed that show or if any real corps performed a show with NO electronic manipulation TODAY THE FANS WOULD LOVE IT. Electro audo doping is real .
Fing real.
Boy, you're making friends real fast here huh?

Their last 4 shows were very entertaining. I'd rather watch that then anything that's won since 2008

These posts make me fear the worst. Last year they looked iconic. They looked like the Madison Scouts. If they go off the rails like everyone else I'm gonna puke.
