87 Sky Ryders should have been part of the poll since it was by far the best rendition.

So I thought I'd check something out....for all people who complain about hearing WSS a million times, this one's for you.
I did add BD 1998 even though they did have some of "Romeo and Juliet," yet you can still hear WSS throughout.
Which of these shows did you prefer?
Blue Devils. Not even close

Electronics should be banned from DCI. How is this NOT obvious?

It's funny enough to post twice in my opinion
And even better - he only allows posts that compliment his playing. And they are mostly all from his other account!
-
did you film it for proof , i did
Yes but I did it in the nude and nobody wants to see that!

Sorry 'bout the dubble post
It's funny enough to post twice in my opinion

This guy puts up clips of himself on You Tube and then makes up different usernames and uses them to comment on his own clips as if he's someone else. He calls himself the next Buddy Rich and says that Gadd is overrated and claims he has better technique than Gadd too.
The posts by 7540123 are from himself, just click on the Username and see where it takes you and that's not the only other username he uses but it is the one he use the most.

This guy friended me on facebook from someone elses' friends list and i approved him because he had Drums in his profile pic and i would've felt bad if it was someone i knew but didn't remember. He did this so he could send me clips of HIM drumming, so i could watch HIM drum. Anyway, when i read a post that proves that he claims that he has better technique than Gadd, that really bothered me. When i called him out, he called me ugly and evil,...this coming from a lawyer. innocent.gif Then he started posting nasty comments on clips of mine. Check this clip of mine:
he is Attyvbb once again click on the username and see where it takes you.........D.A.M.He must be mental cause he's not very good. Terrible technique.

Well, I figured you've got the silver medalist coming through this year, completely black uniforms (from a rumor that I heard) and lots of vets (another thing I was once again told by my friend who auditioned) along with a great season and great staff. I'm beginning to think that they will have a pretty good shot this year (as in really really good) and so what are your thoughts? I personally think that Crown and Devs will go back and forth all summer, and eventually Crown will come out on top, perhaps like a 08 score between the two.
Not going to happen. That is all.

Never mind.

Funny, I was going to ask this exact question. I just ordered and Sfz and it should be here next week. If I want to stay married I have to get a pad.
Which one?
This is the one I purchased. http://www.offworldpercussion.com/INVADER.html#5

So us drummers don't mind the noise when we practice but sometimes we just need to use a pad. What do you people think is the best pad
out there? I was using a Xymox pad till it started to fall apart. I recently purchased an Invader pad from Offworld Percussion and I'm thinking
it's the best thing ever. Thoughts?

i got one of them drumometer thingys and i got up to 1306 beats in a minute actually a new world record
I got 1308

One less set of floor tiles in competition!
-
I agree with you on Bluecoats, and would also throw in Boston, SCV and Phantom. Disagree on Crown. Some good drumming, but nothing all the interesting. In fact, quite boring.
Exactly.
-
In the I&E piece I referenced, he basically plays flam taps at a very respectable double stroke roll tempo...so in essence he is getting 50% more strokes per unit time than just the roll by itself. Check it out, you'll be amazed.
Go to you know where and search for Niko Jasniewicz Solo 2004.
I did and he was way better than I ever was.
-
To echo Adam - definitely not as fast as they used to be. I would submit the open roll as the way to pack the most possible strokes in any given time.
-
what if the possibilities make you wretch? And no disrespect, but paying customers ARE allowed to voice their dislikes. if you don't like reading them, maybe YOU should get off the internet...go take a hike or something...without a camera...
OK - Here goes.... ^This
Am I cool now?
-
they made em sound like yamahas..... im just sayin..
So they sound awesome? Yea!
-
Crown.
They were much improved in 2009 but not yet in the elite realm. Hopefully they will get there some day.
-
This... Makes no sense at all
-
Thank you.

They should be used as an example, like random finals drawing, that all experiments do not end postively.
Best post of the thread. I say close it cause Garfield got it right!
-
I seriously hope we can keep it there.
Me too! - I go to San Antonio to see drum corps - (all of them) in comfy seats, with cool air. If I want to see 2 nights of drum corps in the hot nasty Texas Air
I can go to Houston or Dallas.
-
well, they are running out of tempos that anyone can play/march at.
Plus too many use tempo as a crutch like a ton of notes. ok, great you can run/play fast. what else have you got?
and, IMO, too many can't run and play well at those tempos, at least early
I really wish all corps would step back a bit, maybe slow it down and play entire pieces of music. I miss the concert piece so much.
Who didn't love it when corps would stop for a couple of minutes, on the 50, and blow your face off.
What do you think about a "Bollywood" style drum corps show?

I think I'd like to pass.
