Exactly.  Mason was not interested in being there long term.  It was a 3-4 year project for him.  This is from people that were on that design team during the time.

Yes, that was my understanding. One of Mason's folks is a high school buddy of mine and he confirmed worked with the Scouts for 3 or 4 years. I don't remember exactly how long.

Chris Komnick fired Jim Mason. Let that sink in. An egregiously stupid management decision.

Not really how it went down. Madison hired Mason (and company) for a set amount of years - Maybe 4? to help the Scouts and they did well. It was never meant to be permanent.

I love that show. Wasn't that one voted on one of the DCI Countdown?

Could be - I'm not sure. I was just surprised to see Madison score higher than SCV.  I had been away for several years. Also surprised to see that young lady on the field with them.

  4. My first DCI show in 20 years was this one when it was at Rice University - in 2005. I was a little puzzled at seeing the pit amped but quickly got over it. The Madison Scouts dominated that evening with their Carmen show. 2005.... I made it about 9 more years before I lost interest.

Two yards isn't the numbers from the sidelines. (That's about 9 - 10 yards). When the guy was routinely out that far (and more), it's clear that he was well beyond any perception of 2 yards.

Worse, he was within moving forms the exact reason DCI enacted the rule change.

DCI really needs to train and critique these guys - pretty close to a couple of bad guard accidents.

Obviously DCI needs to give that judge a two point penalty. :spitting:

Hate to disappoint, but many groups who switched from the general definition of uniforms to the general definition of costumes in recent years will be going back to uniforms.

That would not disappoint me. It would be refreshing. Your point?
