So the net effect is that we won't see any Zildjian or Vic Firth banners surrounding the field but there will still be lots of stuff from both used on the field.

I find it hilarious that Mikey Schmidt has proclaimed Kevin Gamin as Kay Gee based on one joking post on DCP. Off his meds permanently I guess.

You are absolutely correct. My sister has worked with the Crossmen for the last several years and told me Fred was planning to retire "in a few years" like 3 years ago.

I am not a Madison Alum. Never claimed to be. I don't like any show designs these days. I have been donating to the Scouts for years.

North Star was another cops that was just fun. Fantastic drumlines and holy crap that 1979 Sop Soloist was about as good as it gets.

My high school drumline often spelled out things by using black tape on the bottom of the cymbal player's shoes. Never anything racist, just little messages to our competition. I vividly remember the judge's tape as he read out loud: "Eat Me Mayfield" and laughing out loud as the cymbals were on their knees with the snareline playing the cymbals. Mayfield High (New Mexico) was the only drumline to come close to taking high percussion from us in four years so we were just rubbing it in. That was definitely on purpose but I'm not convinced the "prank" in the article here was.

I have yet to see any DCI show that was better because of the use of voice. I think it all sucks.
