I am not sure this is a response to anything as much as it was part of a planned transition. The Morrison's were eyeing retirement before all the issues popped up last Spring. I am not saying it was not a factor but I think it is not THE factor which many here believe it is. Just my 2 cents.

You are absolutely correct. My sister has worked with the Crossmen for the last several years and told me Fred was planning to retire "in a few years" like 3 years ago.

An assumption on my part because you only support the Scouts. But the implication still exists in that you believe only the Scouts provide a lifetime experience. You avoided the question within my post concerning that implication. Please respond to that particular question.

I never implicated the Scouts are the only corps that provides the great experience. Move along now.

I realize you are a Madison alum, and want to support them. But your implication here is that while you do not like DCI or even the Scouts show designs, only the members of the Scouts are getting the experience of a lifetime. What about the kids in Jersey Surf: while you are not an alum, and you may or may not like their show design, aren't they also still getting the experience of a lifetime? Should only their alumni support them?

I am not a Madison Alum. Never claimed to be. I don't like any show designs these days. I have been donating to the Scouts for years.

  4. My high school drumline often spelled out things by using black tape on the bottom of the cymbal player's shoes. Never anything racist, just little messages to our competition. I vividly remember the judge's tape as he read out loud: "Eat Me Mayfield" and laughing out loud as the cymbals were on their knees with the snareline playing the cymbals. Mayfield High (New Mexico) was the only drumline to come close to taking high percussion from us in four years so we were just rubbing it in.  That was definitely on purpose but I'm not convinced the "prank" in the article here was.
