What posts have you been reading? When have DCI folks took potshots at DCA folks? If you actually checked, you would see that it actually is the other way around. I don't recall a "DCI type" response that implied that they did not like and qppreciate DCA. I do. The potshots against DCI for instrumentation etc., etc, etc...... are almost continuous.

It mostly goes on from the DCA side slamming DCI. Look at the posts if you don't believe it. Where has there been a post that attacked DCA?

There is something to like in every show by every corps. I was just encouraging you to look for these parts as you "watch".

I refused to answer "dead topic" because there was a huge to do about this several months ago and there is no need to rehash all of that. We can if you like? I never put down DCA. DCA is great and a wonderful activity, but it doesn't compare to DCI. They are sooooooo different.

You also missed the point! If you cannot watch a DCI show and see the beauty in it; you must not really be watching. Does that explain the comment? I agree with your second point. It is pretty dumb. These forums are well known for bashing DCI. Someone has to take their side.

This is not a litany against DCA. I am just standing up for DCI. DCA is a great activity and I enjoy watching it. I never said otherwise. It just is not the same as DCI. I cannot understand why drum corps people even take sides!!! The only reason I took a side in this situation is because I am really upset at all of the jabs that are taken at DCI in these forums.

You totally missed the point also!!! I wasn't saying he never saw a DCI show: I was saying that he must not really be WATCHING them or he couldn't make the statements that he makes. I can't believe that you cannot spot sarcasm when it is clearly there.

I read the forums everyday and the continued litany against DCI. It really ticks me off. What is the point. DCI will always be on the cutting edge and will always be drum corps "major league". DCA has no edge over DCI. What a crazy statement! Is this a competition? If it was, DCA would lose. DCA is a fun activity no doubt, but it does not compare with DCI. In fact, DCA follows DCI. It is unbelievable, but DCA corps use B flat bugles for the most part (follow DCI). The instrumentation follows DCI. DCA will have synths before long. It will happen. DCA is fun, but it is not the place to see the ultimate in drum corps; DCI is the place.

I guess no one reads all the posts making digs against DCI? B flat bugles? Instrumentation? "Cookie Cutter" shows? DCA is growing: DCI contracting (that's a good one considering all the announcements this year)? DCA is more interested in the fans? The litany could go on and on. Jeff is one of the complainers. I know he is a Friend of DCI (so am I) and he goes to shows. Great! I was just making the observation that if he (or anyone else) cannot see how the quality and performance levels of shows in DCI has grown at an unbelievable pace, they are not truly watching the shows. I will say it again. DCA is DCA. DCI is DCI. I wish they could work together for the good of the activity, but that is not going to happen. If you want to see the ultimate top notch drum corps.....you have to go the DCI. I think there is no one who could say otherwise.

To call DCI "cookie cutter" is "ignorant". It doesn't matter if God made the statement....it was "ignorant" and totally untrue. Would you call the Blue Devils "cookie cutter"? The Vanguard? The Cavaliers? The Cadets?..............

Have you even been to a DCI show? .....Cookie Cutter? What are you talking about? Maybe if you ever attend a DCI show you should actually watch it next time. DCA is DCA. DCI is DCI. You can say anything you want, but there is no comparison. If you want to watch the best drum corps....you have to go where the big boys are....DCI.

Interesting... I thought that DCA was the only part of drum corp that was growing and that was a reason why they did not need to combine or work together with DCI........Sure looks like a lot of DCA corps are also experiencing difficulties.......Interesting.........
