Kinda a bust.
More power to him and DCI for trying to help music programs but... why do it at the one place where people know that music education needs help?
Also I think it could have been planned better. They did it before the show started so people were talking, the seats were still pretty empty, and you couldnt hear the school band over Shaun.
Nobody was really getting into it, Shaun was almost begging people to stand up at the end. I think it was mostly due to what I said above plus it wasnt really a great concert setting. I think they should have done this after BD while they were getting corps lined up for retreat. Probably would have gotten a better response from the crowd.

A few corps in recent years come to mind but overall I wouldnt say so.
but yes... tour goggles play a huge part in this.

I did notice it when I first got to my seat but once corps started performing, it didnt cross my mind again.
Im sure they would have removed it had the game not been the following day. Last year was the only year that it wasnt there and if I recall correctly, it was a thicker piece because of less usage. Maybe corps said just leave it for consistency?

You say Phantom has been the same since 08 and need to change it up. Well, BD has been the same since 2008 too.
I think BDs shows are "the norm" nowadays and are not outside the box. They are just... unique.

I believe Kidsgrove and Cadets2 will go on first, since neither were at Prelims last year.
Pretty sure it goes by most recent score...

who cares about who is talking about them on DCP. You should have seen the souvie line at finals. Longest of them all BY FAR. Thats what really matters right? The phans love them.

About LOS...
The sounds isnt really the best...its a dome. What do you expect?
All I know is there has been some nasty weather over the last 4 years that probably would have cancelled one of the shows over the 3 days. Luckily with the convention centers and a covered stadium... the shows went on.
The sound issues were minimal compared to the first year there. I think they finally have it right.
If you have not been there... buy cheap quarters tickets and experience it for yourself before you complain.

I think that you can make a pretty good judgement with a video... visually. If you have a stationary high cam you can tell who is clean and who isnt. As far as sound... you can say "oh that was cool" but to get the full assessment on attacks, releases, balance, blend, etc... it cant be done as well as in person.

I have always hated the Teal name. I wish it would change.
I get that they are using it to keep the connection but it was a bad name to start with.

Only location unknown is BDs actual rehearsal site. In years past it has been the Indianapolis Colts training facility.

Not sold that Cabs will take 2nd. I said in another thread it will be a battle and I think they will make a nice run for it but I believe MBI will hold them off. August seems to be the month they shine.
Wish there were some reviews from this past weekend!

Bush really needs to go to Class A. Surprised with the MBI and Cabs scores. Looks like a dogfight for second. I don't believe either have a shot at first but who knows.
