On a scale of 1-10, the feature is most certainly a 10!
10-4 good buddy.

Is this one of those 0's are circles but circles aren't 0's?
If you want to get technical his arm is the focal point and he is walking around it so that's a o
In France and in many parts of Europe, a zero (0) usually has a slash through it. No?

Okay,
Bluecoats, you are very good.
That being said, there is just too much electronic use. Speakers on the field, sampling horns...
It's entertaining, but this was my worst nightmare when electronics became usable.
This is completely detracting from the beautiful and powerful horn line they have fielded this year.
This is just how I see/hear things.
Am I truly alone?
No you are not alone.
I found BC kinda boring myself. Way too much electronics.
It was really distracting to me personally. I want drum corps with as little electronics as possible.

A lot of game ideas would have worked in Cavies show..
Blue Balls.
Yeah.
Someone's not getting enough?

who cares about the hype train, the more variety in champions and the more first time champions will bring more success to the activity as whole
Yeah so tell BD to stop winning, will ya? :)

It's like everyone left the Carolina crown hype train and joined the bluecoats hype train.
The Hype Train stops every 15 minutes and a new Hype climbs on board.

That little video of KPOP made me wanna barf.

What is South Korean pop music like?
Lots of Autotuning, lypsynching and "hip hop style dancing" ala all those Boy Bands from the 90s.

SCV - 81.5 !!!
When was the last time SCV had the highest score in the Nation (albeit perhaps a short lived time)?

I have to say, the K-Pop section is my favorite part of the BD show. It's just... unexpected, and weird and funky ... all at the same time!
I watched it online and I said to myself, "What .. in the hell... is going on here?"" In a GOOD way.

I have, I think, seen maybe one of the most exciting drum line warm ups ever!
These kids are amazing. The drum set with Roger Carter is I think a first. Head drum guy leading the warm ups on drum set.

The Spark of Invention made the City of Lights burn brightly so that the Ink in the books could be turned into words.

Sorry, I saw about 5 minutes of the Bluecoats vid at the Indy. It was really all I could stand.
Just way way too too much electronics, too too much unrecognizable music. It, to me, was just plain boring.
Reminded me of Crown 2013 Part 2.

It's never going away.
Um, actually it could. If there's no electricity in the house, or if the electronics stop working because of "technical difficulties".

Ever thought about each member of Blue Devils has a very distinct style and appearance?
Do they audition people based on how they look too? Because almost all of them are attractive.
Or is it just the fact that they are from California they have this natural celebrity look?
Anybody have other thoughts?
What a shallow thing to say.
What the hell is a "natural celebrity look"?
Oh do you think California is full of celebrities and everyone looks attractive?
WRONG.

you realize this is not the same drumline for the summer, correct?
Of course I know this isn't the same drunline. Correct yourself!
Paul and Sandi Rennick. Champion percussion writers.I know it's their 1st year writing for the WP.
World Class Program. All of those wonderful Backstage videos.
Cadets and Cavies, also top 7 drum corps, made it into WGI Finals.

In case you didn't see it, JB's post on his silly little FB group, it's all gone, the rant along with emails to and from Dan A. I guess fear makes some people have a nice little time with the right clicking and Delete....

It's just the disgruntled and bitter JB trying to start up drama. Plain and simple. He seems so obsessed about trying to create the downfall of DCI, or trying to expose some evil or wrong cover up or wrong-doings.
What's interesting is the lack of logic in Mr. Blair's base argument that current providers and advisers to DCI are somehow being unfairly advantaged by a presumed "favoritism", "conflict of interest", or "lack of transparency". In the face of rumor and possible fact, it just doesn't add up. I contend that DCI could equally be getting a terrific deal as a result of Cesario's relationship with FJM, and the possibility exists that other relationships provide similar value to DCI.
Isn't there an accepted norm that, for instance, FJM provides uniforms at low-cost or, in some cases, free to drum corps to have access to the wider marching arts audience (ie, marching bands, indoor, etc)? If such is true then drum corps is a loss-leader to FJM, not a profit center. (The same argument can be made of other equipment suppliers and service providers).
So if these providers view drum corps as a loss-leader, how is it possible that FJM is being favored simply because Cesario is connected to them? If drum corps are getting equipment and unis at favorable prices, how can Cesario's relationship result in FJM being unfairly capitalizing on that relationship? Or Yamaha, or (name an equipment supplier)?
It seems that Blair's contention could only be true if suppliers were being unfairly advantaged against competitors because of the Cesario (or other staff) relationships.
In a single, poignant question: What are the damages being claimed by Blair that FJM enjoys at the expense of other providers? If FJM is providing a lower cost over another provider, how is DCI harmed or who is DCI harming?
"Unfair advantage" usually equates to unfair profits. Where are they, Mr. Blair?
I don't know details, but I suspect the same argument can be used for others providing service to DCI. It could be DCI is getting a great bargain and much more service than the fees paid would suggest (that discussion is left to the DCI executive and board meetings).
But to claim de facto harm due to a personal relationship ignores the possibility that a favored relationship (such as Cesario's, Jacobs', or DeNovi's) might result not in favorable treatment, but in a valuable service provided at a value price.
Or is Mr. Blair suggesting that FJM is being taken advantage of by DCI's relationship with Cesario? That crazy question seems to make about as much sense as Blair's contentions in his FB "Romper Room" of screaming toddlers.

so have others. trying to engage in rational discourse over there is entertaining. They refuse to see any option other than theirs, DCI is the root of all evil, drum corps is band, etc etc.
They are spending too much time and energy hating, and disliking and #####ing and moaning. Especially that one guy on there who is posting emails and kinds of "evidence" to back himself up.
Yeah B____ I drank the Kool Aid. Sure was delicious.

John Blair needs to get a friggin' life. Just shut up already.
DCI and Dan don't really have any obligation to reply to nut jobs like John.
Just shut up.

Disappointing in a way.
So few top 12 corps actually seem to participate in the what is now called Performers Showcase (originally individual and ensemble).
I mean, yeah, it's sponsored by System Blue this year, so yeah there's alot of participation by the blue devils, a smattering of Madison. But sadly the rest of the top 15 (?) seem to be missing. No phantom, no scv, no cavaliers.....
Woodwinds and vocal ensembles up the wazoo.
Yawn.
-
Oh hush,
But don't act all like the corps is doing the pitch bend "live". It's sort of like lip synching.
Have you been living under a rock? Yes, it's pre-recorded by the corps and then synth'd out. anyways...

I completely agree. I think the 1 bar pause is just too long of a linger. The effect I think, begins to get lost in that 1 bar pause.
