Hey everybody. I heard a rumor floating around that I&E wasn't taking place this year for world class. Anybody know if this is true or not?

According to that, Open class I&E is still scheduled. But what about world?

Hey guys. I just have a question based on your prior experiences...
What is it like with drum corps during your high school to college transition?
I'm currently a senior in high school and about to start my 3rd year in drum corps this summer (yeah I know, started early). I just have some thoughts of maybe not marching a year to work all summer and make my drives back and forth to college a little less hectic...
Everytime that creeps into my mind I realize why I do drum corps, it's to feel thankful for all the royalties at home, to feel blessed to have the ability to study, have a car, have a close family, you know what I mean... I need to march.... But is it too much?
How was it for you guys?

Yeah i just came back from tour and hopped into the show in a few weeks. Learning a MB show is incredibly easy after tour. Especially after bluestar drill.

Better if they simply get rid of any headgear all together.
Anything on the head is sort of last century, limiting and awkward.
I called this one years ago... and corps are finally now starting to slowly lose the lids (how many corps went without headwear for at least part of their show this year?).
Won't be long before silly hats are a thing of the past. This is a very good thing.
I totally agree on how it would be less limiting... But man I would miss that BA feeling of having your eyes hidden by a shako

I think we're still gonna have an exciting wildcard battle for the 12th spot in finals.
The Crossmen are going to get A LOT of new talent just like spirit did in 2011.
The Bluestars are gonna be ON FIRE after the epic conclusion to the season, I cant wait to see how it translates to the show.

I just gotta say, I can't wait to see the new uniform, but I thought the grey was classy looking. Especially with the white arms and shoulders, when the corps does upper body movement... Man those arms really pop.

I performed in the parade... It was kinda weird. We all had the idea of having our last performance as a unit on the field... But nope... Parade.

So do you guys think all of those corps will eventually all be playing Jupiter or yamaha?

Hey guys,
After seeing so many corps switch from either Yamaha or King to Jupiter, what do you think the chances are that all corps will eventually be playing on the same brand?
Granted, I don't have a clue about how much money is spent by corps for these horns, all I know is it seems Jupiter gives out some great deals.
I'm preparing now to march my 2nd season of Jupiter, so I have some experience on these babies, and to me, they are great ensemble horns, just.... Not so strong on the individual level.

There is that DCI parade in Indy on the day of finals. I mean, maybe that could be moved to earlier, like before quarterfinals? I'm just throwing out ideas.

Very true. You never know though. I mean, I never thought I'd find time to work on a piece for I&E, but it worked out! Maybe they are picked at the start of the season and given music to work on throughout tour? Not sure...

Hey everybody,
Now, this idea just came to me, but has there ever been thought of a DCI Allstar corps?
I imagine it would sorta work like the NFL manages the ProBowl... Maybe a few spots are open for each corps, and the corps will vote for who will represent them. Maybe at the end of the season they could have a small standstill.
I dont know. The idea of having the best the Cavies, Bluecoats, Cadets, Bluestars, Colts etc. have to offer, performing together sounds awesome, and I think It would bring a new unity to the corps in DCI

Malaga all the way. Maybe if I could of heard the 88 scouts in person it'd be a different story, but Malaga is amazing.

Hey guys, I've been looking around for just a regular Bb Dynasty trumpet. Anybody have one they are willing to sell? I don't care about the condition. I have quite the horn collection too if you would rather trade.

I dont think the Bluestars are gonna suffer at all. Even though they have a big ageout class, as long as they come out of the gates with an extremely well made show like Houdini, the'll be up in 6th-7th. I love what they do though. They always seem to try new stuff. One show extreme to the next, its a lot of fun to watch.

Dont charge rookies for their first camp. I believe one of the hardest things for kids that want to march, is just going to their first camp. Not charging for that first camp eliminates that excuse, as well as makes it much more appealing to take that first step.
Either that or lower the price... Paying $150-175 for an audition is very hard to do. It limits where you can audition to what you can afford... Most corps wont give audition materials until you pay. I think that's a little rough. Making a young kid not have enough practice time on the audition because he has to save up money just to audition...

Ah... Well then this would help people in corps that require a shirt! Haha... I mean, it'd still smell. But the smells could be washed off easily in the shower. I think it would have to contain 0% cotton. Like take mesh shorts... My section shorts last year could be washed, but the smell wouldn't leave the cotton waistband... I don't know. I'm just sorta brainstormin

New DCI rules require you to wear a shirt inside housing sites and around food areas (food line, while eating). Even though thats the only time I wore a shirt, most of my clothes were covered in sweat and sunscreen.
Under Armour is rediculous. I dont want to pay $40 for a shirt that is pretty uncomfortable... Maybe something like this...
But add a name plate to distinguish yours with corps colors and logo.

So over the summer this came to me, do you think a company would ever make a DCI rehearsal clothing line? Like light clothes that will last through rehearsals that can be taken in the showers and dried quickly to cut down on smell. I can imagine a company displaying this at a finals tent and getting a lot of sales... I would buy.
