i think if he went back he would shoot for an even higher corps bc at the time guardsmen came in around 11th (which is about where glassmen r at). so he basically wants me to aim high but i dont think he realizes how difficult it is to make a snare line

phantom regiment is the only camp i have been to. i ended up about 19 out of the 33 guys trying out for the 3 remainling spots. glassmen is just the corps ive been around the most since they come to my high school every summer. this year my band director got me some time with rob ferguson so i could play for him and he could help me out. Granted at the time he said i was not good enough to make the line. but he told me what to do and to come to matrix auditions in the fall. The main goal of this post was to get information on corps from ppl with personal expereince. Since i, being in high school, have little information on each corps individually i thought it would be nice to see how other people came to their choices on corps they marched with

i definately agree with you on this one! i would hate to look back and think i didnt march a summer because of getting cut from the glassmen so maybe if it doesnt work out there ill look into pioneer ?

that is correct i only auditioned and was cut in december. I have gotten a lot better since then and would like to march in a world class corps as soon as possible i just need help choosing the one that is right for me

i'm a senior in high school and i plare snare on our drumline. im having a tough time really choosing a corps to commit to. This past winter i auditioned for Phantom Regiment for the first time and had a pretty good experience but now im strongly considering going for glassmen. Glassmen has always been a corps ive enjoyed watching as ive seen them rehearse at my high school many times. And plus with the loss of rennick as the caption head im not sure i want to go back to pr. i live in central indiana so west coast corps are pretty much out of range but any advice on where to go and where not to go would be a LOTof help! my only requirements are: not an all male corps, not a snare line with tilted snares. :p Other than that i would LOVE to hear what everyone has to say based on their experiences. thanks!
