  1. Position Available Color Guard Tech The Terre Haute North Color Guard program is looking to fill a color guard tech position. Teaching experience along with WGI/DCI performance experience is preferred. We are looking for someone who is highly capable of cleaning equipment choreography and enforcing equipment/movement fundamentals. Interested applicants would need to be available to attend 2-3 evening rehearsals per week during the fall season. The position could extend through the winter season, where we are planning on having at least two winter groups. This position has the potential to being as soon as possible, or at the latest, the beginning of the fall. Terre Haute is located approximately an hour west of Indianapolis, and 10 minutes from the Border of Illinois. All interested candidates should contact color guard director, Daniel Bertram, at dvb2@vigoschools.org
  2. Hello all! I am looking to rent two 39’’ king sabers. I’m willing to negotiate to what you would think a fair price for rental. We can even come up with a contract for your boosters, if need be. I am only wanting these for the 2011 winter season. I can have them back to you right after WGI. I am also looking for 16-18 solid gold lame' silks. I would like to make sure all of these lame’ silks match. If your groups have any of these items lying around your guard room please get in contact with me! I would much rather spend some money going to a booster organization vs. buying brand new. Thank you! :-D Daniel Bertram Director of Color Guards Terre Haute North Vigo High School dvb2@vigoschools.org (765)-524-8108
  3. I have an addition of 20 new members to my 48 member color guard, and they are doing a fantastic job this season. The one thing that I struggle with is getting them to count out loud. This group for whatever reason just don’t seem to understand the correlation that moving their mouths has between, keeping their feet in time, the timing of their equipment, and just the physical and mental skills involved in this process. The older members, other staff members, and I have all tried our best to convince them that counting has positive effects on their performance, but they still just refuse to count out loud consistently. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can sell the idea of counting to my young new flags? Thank you!
