  1. Only four more days! I can't wait - it's going to be an awesome show. Plus the food is always great!
  2. I have heard all of these arrangements played by the hornline, and I can promise that they will NOT disappoint. Swan Lake is my personal favorite...but that's just me. I have a definite affinity for Tchaikovsky.
  3. It looks like we may have some wintry mix on the way for Saturday, February 5th. For anyone who might be planning on coming out to Twin Valley High School this weekend, please drive safely. We hope to see you there!
  4. As a former marching member of the 2010 Reading Buccaneers hornline, I can say it was a delight and a privilege to spend some time with the Sun Devils during the 4th of July. You guys are a phenomenal group of people, and I can't wait to see you on the field again sometime. Best of luck!
  5. It is important to remember that just because a person has died, doesn't mean that they're not with us anymore. And I am not even talking about anything necessarily spiritual; that person's impact upon the lives of others continues to reverberate, sometimes in ways that cannot be predicted, for years to come. Goodbye, Ned. Thanks for everything.
  6. Hmm. You're probably right, Kyle. I distinctly remember snow being on the ground, though. I guess I just mentally equate February with snow, rather than March.
  7. Well Dan, if you remember, last season we learned up to page eight or so of Rome while there was snow on the ground. I guess that's what happens when you start learning drill in February.
  8. I can't wait to see the colorguard back this Sunday. It's always so great to have them around. Come by Twin Valley High School in Elverson, PA this Sunday to see what the 2011 Buccaneers are all about!
  9. Camp on the 15th and 16th should be wonderful! I highly encourage everyone who is the least bit interested in the 2011 Reading Buccaneers to come out to Twin Valley High School in Elverson, PA to see what all the fuss - or I guess the dance? - is about!
  10. I seem to remember learning drill in late February last year. I definitely remember snow being on the ground at Twin Valley as we learned the first pages of Pines of Rome, at least. I never thought I'd see the day that I would be marching drum corps in the snow, but last season proved me wrong.
  11. Hey Tom and Dan, say I've never played a brass instrument before in my life. Would I still be able to come and check out the hornline, even though I missed Membership Day?
  12. Awesome, Tom! I don't know about anyone else, but I'd go just for the food. I hear there's going to be a drum corps or something rehearsing, too...maybe I'll check that out as well.
  13. Unfortunately I don't think I can make it on Saturday (prior college commitments), but I definitely plan to be around on Sunday. I'm right there with you, Dan - can't wait to hear Mambo!
  14. As a former member of the Buccaneer hornline, I was thoroughly impressed with the kind of progress that was made in just a few short hours on Sunday. The sound that was being put out so early was impressive, to say the least. The show concept is very exciting as well; Chairman Dances reminds me of New Era Dance back in '07: aggressive, powerful, and plenty of grinding dissonances - in short, just the kind of piece to kick off another great show. I can not wait to see what our wonderful design team has in mind for when the corps gets out on the field! As has been said before, it is far from too late to be a part of the 2011 Reading Buccaneers. Come by Twin Valley High School this weekend - Saturday, December 4th from 9-6, and Sunday, December 5th from 9-4:15 - to see for yourself!
