We’re a day away from the premier. How about not resurrecting posts about Pioneer or mentioning George Hopkins.

While maybe not focusing on “him” or “them” the conversation definitely needs to continue. The conversation should never stop and it should be at the forefront of everything we do. Remember...last season was a celebration of progress and a new era of safety in the activity until the Pioneer fiasco was unearthed afterward.

Always be skeptical and always demand that pressure be put on those responsible for making decisions and being held accountable.

For instance, let’s not forget that Fred Morrison still serves at Executive Director of Crossmen to this day.

That's interesting. But could SCV pull of Session 44 and Bluecoats Babylon? I think so, from a excellence and comeptitive standpoint, but to me those shows are so Bluecoats and SCV it would be weird otherwise. I loved the idea of Beast for Crown. I just don't think it was very Beast. I did love the music though.

Phantom could pull off dreams and nighthawks.

Well shucks, Crown Phan. I might have three tickets, but they're not for people with stopwatches and a huge blind spot. Oh well... :silly:

Lol! It's actually really funny that I just saw this now after watching the regional last night. I'm actually a fan of this years show. They address all my usual criticism and it's just a really fun show. Reminds me a lot of 2011.

    Wow.... a rare breed. LOL.

I'm not sure I would ever go to the city of Cleveland wearing anything resembling Ravens gear.

And I LIKE Cleveland.    Hung out at The Flats a few times over the years. (Long story.  LOL)  I remember the bar with the swimming pool in the middle of the outdoor area. Actually, I should say I barely remember that bar. :innocent:

From Cleveland. When the Browns were gone is when I remember actively starting to notice the NFL (I was born in '92). I latched on to Green Bay but the Browns are still home to me (even if the team is a joke.)

Anyway, can confirm I hate Baltimore and anything even slightly attached to the Ravens. Don't test it in Cleveland. It won't end well.

Based purely on their 990, its not as weak as youre making it out to be. A nonprofit of YEA's size can run budget  deficits, and said deficits are smaller than they were in years past. Meanwhile they have a solid amount of cash reserves on hand and still have a lot of assets.

However i believe he is the highest paid person in dci.

True. There are a number of corps much worse off.

I'm guessing you haven't talked to very many of the MM's to,ask them how they feel about this particular show.

    No I haven't. Being honest.

But I have never seen a group of kids so completely bought into what they were doing.

    Good for them

it is amazing how many people have stopped me to tell me how much the show meant to them.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing this every time the Cadets do something religious.

and they didn't even get to see it with uniforms.

    Probably best.

and they will remember this odd program that touched them in a different way.

Odd touching might just be the most catholic thing about this show.

I know what I heard from the crowd these past two nights.

And I know how many people I saw leaving the stands with me before they took the field.

Now I'm picturing the standing ovation after the ballad this evening, except for you in row 12 frowning, staring intently at your stopwatch.   Let's agree to disagree. You equate "more work" with playing and matching fast, as much as possible. I love the perfect blend of amazing sound, amazing movement and best-in-class overall performance.  The same judging community that awarded PR in 2008,  the Cadets in 2011, Crown in 2013 and Bluecoats in 2016, also awarded the Blue Devils in 2009/2010/2012/2014/2015/2017.  Excellence and innovation wins in this activity.  And that's a lot more than only playing pretty while marching drill.   Meanwhile, can't wait for 2018!

Your picture is incredibly accurate. I just want them to play SOMETHING technically demanding while moving.

Attendance was quoted as 23,342. Too bad for you and 341 others, because those kids deserved all the praise they received. I applaud all of them, just as I applaud the rest of the competitors. Fantastic night.

Yeah, the kids do great work and all that jazz. But I cannot and will not support the staff putting that kind of noise out there. Those kids deserve something that isn't covered with a metric ton of cheese whiz.
