  1. Sunrisers To Hold 2012 Open House The Corps would also like to announce their 2012 Open House. This event will be held on November 24th, 2012 at Brentwood High School's Sonderling Building, 2 Sixth Avenue. The time will be 11:00am until 6pm. All prospective members are asked to bring their instruments (if you own your own). You will be introduced to your staff professional so be ready to play or spin depending on your section. There will be a $20.00 registration fee (to be paid upon arrival). If you want to perform with a winning organization for 2012/2013, make sure you are there! Come and meet the Sunrisers' new director Mr. David Abrams. All parents are also invited and are encouraged to do so.
  2. Sunrisers To Hold 2012 Awards Dinner The Sunrisers are proud to be holding its 2012 Awards Dinner on Saturday, November 17. It will be held at the Sheraton Long Island Hotel, 110 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, NY, 11788. The banquet will be held from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. There will be food, music and dancing. A real social event to end the 2012 season in grand style. All members, alumni, staff and parents are invited. The cost is $45.00 per person (but did I mention there will be food and dancing?!) If you sign and bring your invitation there will be a door prize for the winner of the selected invitation.
  3. The phone number (502) 614-5826) has been changed and the new number is unknown. That is the message I get when trying to call Box 5. My CD's came and the Open Class Prelims had the Bucs TWICE. CD1 listed Bush as track 1 but was Bucs. CD2 listed Bucs and it was Bucs. That means NO Bush. What is the story with their phone and does anyone else have the same defective CD? 12:40 pm - Just got off the phone (502) 409-5595 with Box 5. They said they were RE-ISSUEING the Open Class Prelims and everyone who ordered them will get a new copy. Hope this is accurate.
  4. Music announcements and schedule information will be announced at the Open House to be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 between the hours of 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm at the: Brentwood High School @ The Sonderling Building #2 Sixth Avenue Brentwood, Long Island, New York 11717 - 6100 Everyone is invited to attend and meet our 2012 instructional staff, pick up a pair of sticks, colorguard equiptment, or a horn and give it a try. We think you will like what you find in the Sunrisers. If you own a brass instrument it is suggested that you bring it along to insure that there are enough instruments on hand.
  5. The Sunrisers are extremely excited to welcome J. Frank Nash to our staff for 2012 in the capacity of Percussion Caption Head and Battery Arranger. Mr. Nash brings with him a wealth of drum corps experience, having begun his career at the age of six in a small corps from Brooklyn, NY that was an offshoot of the Loyal Order of Odd Fellows fraternal organization. Mr. Nash then continued his junior corps career with the Wynn Center Toppers, the St. Joseph Patron Cadets and the nationally ranked St. Rita's Brassmen of Brooklyn, NY. From 1973 until the present, Mr. Nash has enjoyed associations with the New York Skyliners, Harrison Bushwackers, Hawthorne Caballeros, Syracuse Brigadiers, Atlanta Corpsvets and Fusion Core in the Drum Corps Associates' (DCA) arena. During that time he has been fortunate enough to be part of a record nine DCA World Championships and one American Legion National Title. In addition, Mr. Nash was also an integral part of seven DCA Percussion Titles. Mr. Nash is also a 3-time DCA individual Snare Drumming Champion. Mr. Nash has previously served as Percussion Caption Head and Arranger for various drum corps and high school bands in the tri-sate area, most notably the Caballeros, Skyliners, Corpsvets and the Lehigh Valley Knights in DCI Division III. In September of 2007, Mr. Nash was inducted into the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame and is a member of the Vic Firth educational team…
