Ticketmaster automatically issues refunds starting in 30 days.

Not to argue, but the email from Ticketmaster seems to indicate otherwise (bolded by me for clarity):

"We are working with the event organizer to identify new dates (for events that are postponed), and we will contact you as soon as we have confirmation. For rescheduled events, that information will be listed on our website by your event. If your event's organizer is offering refunds for a postponed or rescheduled event, this option (a refund link) will be visible under the order in your Ticketmaster account If the refund button is not appearing, the event organizer is not offering refunds at this time. Please note that given the unprecedented circumstances, event organizers are constantly assessing the situation and making determinations regarding refunds. If your event is not currently enabled for refunds, check back later, as this status may change."

I purchased Semifinals previously on Flomarching as a one time event. Is it still possible to watch live, paying only for Semifinals?

    Thanks!

It is not available as a one-off event. You have to pay for the month (if still available) or a yearly subscription.

    So Tarps,

There are plenty of people on the staff who have experience with tarps and I'm sure that they will know the tricks necessary to make them not a safety concern to any of their members..

I'd be interested to to see how the forms relate to these tarps.

At rehearsal last week, they spent a good deal of time adjusting forms slightly to align with the designs on the tarps. Many discussion were had with specific sections about cheating a drill form towards the red/black border or the edge of the tarp, for example.

They also discussed  exaggerating their bicycle step as they moved across the tarp boundaries. There are several moves where the drumline is marching diagonally  backward across the grass-tarp threshold. These are the moments that seemed particularly concerning to me.

During shows/competitions, does the soundboard operator/tech communicate in realtime with a staff member in the box? That would make sense wouldn't it -- ie: "bring up the tubas" "bring up the mellos" ect ect....

Yes, the soundboard operator communicates with one (or several) corps staff in the stands. Due to my seats on an aisle by the box, I sat next to all of these people at the Ankeny show last night. Each had a phone or ipad they were using to communicate in real time with the soundboard operator. A couple even wore headphones, which I assumed were to listen to a feed from the board. I spoke with most of them. They got real quiet and focused once the show started.

hmm.... it would just seem to make sense for the sound techs up front to take a feed off the corps' soundboard and feed it into the flo's sound board --

has anyone else had a hard time hearing the screamers at the end of Bluecoats' show? Is it because their levels aren't up? Or the hornline's levels are too high? Or am I just losing my higher frequency hearing?

Bluecoats have multiple speaker arrays. Flo's TWO smaller mics are generally placed in front of the two primary corps speaker arrays. Bloo does a good job of localizing the soloists sound to the speaker array closest to the soloist -- which may or may not be the speaker array Flo has mic'd.

Will the larger than life size bust of Brandt Crocker be unveiled tonite?

I think he deserves a plaque outside the stadium like they have at Whitewater for the first DCI  Championships.

Actually, was watching Vangaurd rehearsal a few years ago before the (then) Waukee, Iowa show. Brandt showed up to check things out and, without the kids knowing, snuck up into the press box. As they were about to begin their run-through, he made his trademark announcement over the corps PA system. There were smiles all around. It was a fun little throwaway moment.

I doubt SCV reveals their BIG new changes tonight.

  7. Looks to be a lovely evening for drum corps if the wind stays down. From NOAA:

Today -- Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Tonight -- Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. Breezy, with a northwest wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Drum corps returns to Ankeny for the first time in over 10 years. The Colts site has a fun write up about the history of the show. Excited to watch this stacked lineup of corps in person along with everyone watching on Flo!

Interesting - any hints? Music, visual, props, costume, all of the above?

The volunteers travelling with corps said their run through felt like a "completely new show" with all of the little musical and visual changes they've put in the past week.

The big change I am referencing will bring clarity to some of the complaints I've read about their visual design this year.  The design will all make much more sense.
