  2. We had an EXCELLENT turn out for Auditions. We're hosting call back auditions this Saturday at the same location.

We'll still most likely be looking to add to our front ensemble after this round of auditions. So if your from Northern Illinois (or nearby) and looking for an ensemble to march with this winter, give us a try.

  5. I find his drill always too tight. The corps proper is always at 2's. I also find that there is too many follow the leader forms.

    So AShy!!

Indeed true, but I believe that's what make his drill unique and effective. I'm almost ALWAYS turned off from a drill design that covers too much field for too long.

    i'm a fan.

  6. Why does everything have to be about competition? When will people realize its killing the activity? How many more corps have to go under?

Pretty soon the activity will be down to 20 corps total, only 3000 available marching spots max. The activity is slowly boxing itself into to a ball of self-destruction. At this rate, Ill support year round school. The chances of younger kids (hs aged) marching are becoming less likely every year.

I hate to say it, but the old farts were right.

  7. If the horn being heavy is the problem..... get strong lol. You can offset the weight of the bell by raising the angle of the horn slightly. It might help shift the pressure of the weight to a stronger/secure of the left hand. You right... should have no tension at all. In a perfect world you should be able to comfortably play with just three fingers on your right hand. Think of using the thumb and pinky on the left as a little extra support.

    Hope this helps.

  8. I love this show!!!!

Btw, Academy 06 is probally the most overated shows in Open Class history IMO. Brass was smoking, I will admit. If it wasnt for the brass section ECJ would have most likely repeated. (And its not me being bias, just keeping it real)

So yea, Oregon Crusaders, have been setting the standard since 2004. Staff and members are extreme class acts. So much respect for this organization and what they offer young people.
