  3. After completing its most successful season to date—placing 5th place in Open Class at the 2013 WGI World Championships—Wake Forest Independent is proud and excited to announce the start of its 2014 season. In addition to auditions, which will take place on October 27th at Ronald W. Reagan HS, WFI is also offering two educational clinics in both Western, NC on October 6th at Mars Hill University, and Central, NC on October 13th at Ronald W. Reagan HS. These clinics are a great opportunity for area percussionists to learn from the WFI educational staff and get a head start on audition preparations. The Western NC Clinic also features a master class by Dr. Brian Tinkel, Head of Percussion Studies at Mars Hill University and former Caption Head for the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. We hope to see you there! Visit (http://www.wfindependent.org) for more information.
  4. Visit http://carolinagold.org/2012_summer_cli ... linic.html for more information and to register today! Carolina Gold Drum & Bugle Corps will be hosting its THIRD ANNUAL Summer Percussion Clinic on Saturday, July 21st from 9am - 6:30pm. Justin Mabry and the 2012 Carolina Gold Percussion Staff will be providing the clinic to anyone who is interested. All of the clinicians that will be teaching at the clinic are education professionals that will work with the students in both group and one-on-one settings to help them build the necessary skills to enhance their playing, all in a fun and productive environment. There will also be a master class provided by Dr. Kristopher Keeton as well as a performance from the 2012 Carolina Gold Percussion Section. The cost is only $50 and included in this price will be the Clinic Exercise Packet (which will be used throughout the clinic), Innovative Percussion Marching Snare Sticks, 2012 Clinic Shirt, Lunch, and door prizes throughout the master class from our sponsors. The curriculum for the clinic will teach the students all the fundamentals of their particular instruments, helping them grow to a more intermediate, if not advanced level. The students will be given the information they need to take these basic techniques and enhance them which will enable them to become the best performers possible.
