  1. Long Island?? No thank you!

This area and host group has extensive experience in hosting a World Championship event, the Little Leauge World Series, which is a WHOLE lot bigger then the DCA Championship.I'm told they are expanding some of the stadium before the championships move there in two years. Also the corps will NOT be forced to rent hotel rooms as part of the contract like in the past, a HUGE financial savings for corps and members. The area schools will be available for corps to house members if they want to forego a hotel for the weekend, THAT alone is a big reason moving the show here in the future. Plenty of affordable hotels and restaurants in close proximity and a group that will do ANYTHING to make sure the corps and fans have a positive experience for championships. And let's be honest, Not too many groups were courting the DCA with a proposal. This is a win for the circuit in so many ways!

Long Island would be an excellent site if a concerted effort could be organized to support such an undertaking. There ARE a couple of great locations, Stony Brook being one of them, that would served DCA well. That, plus great restaurants, the beaches etc. would provide plenty of non-drum corps entertainment. Having said that, Williamsport has the desire and great people backing their show and I and the Sunrisers look forward to competing their in 2018 and 2019!

  2. THANK YOU KEVIN AGAIN. You do such a good job. I wish you a safe trip home.

( LI Sunrisers. I think going on in front of a Large Crowd at the Championships. Under the Light's. Would have been a better choice. Showing how GOOD you are to the Fans. )

A number of our members have college classes on Monday. While they would have stayed if we we competing or if we had gone on first (as we have in the past) I could not in good conscience hold them until 10:30. With that, I did not want to perform with holes in the the corps.

  3. I'd like to know why someone would give red flags to a person asking an honest question .And Jeff we know they where missing base drumers but from John;s review it did not affect there show ,So i;ll ask again ,Sunrisers have not been moving in scores as some others have ,Suns show is much better than a few corps above them as John said in his review ,So maybe you should all be looking around and asking the same question ,

While I love the passion of our alumni, please lets all be clear that these comments are NOT coming from the Sunrisers - the Sunrisers are going about our business, working hard and looking forward to performing at the Hurricanes Fanfare 2013 show this Saturday!

    See you on the 50!!
