It's also entirely possible that all of the kids marching this summer aren't really robots and ARE in fact susceptible to fatigue if worked too hard and merely pointing out that fact in no way takes away from the accomplishment of corps scoring higher than them unless of course someone is desperately looking for something from which to be offended.
Sorry folks! Can't talk about things that might effect the performance of a corps. Might annoy someone on DCP.
Then it's weird that only the Cadets are tired. Apparently BD/Crown are just not practicing as hard.
All I'm saying is that they're all great corps, and if BD/Crown or Cadets win.. it's not due to the other corps being tired.

Believe it or not, not every comment that isn't a glowing praise of every single corps that has existed or ever will exist is intended strictly to offend as many people as possible. Sometimes, people make observations such as "Man, the Cadets looked kind of tired today." That statement is not inherently offensive; it's up to you whether you will choose to be offended. However, don't think that your choice to be offended gives you a right to attack the person who made the statement that offended you, since unless they were intentionally trying to personally offend you, they didn't say anything out of line.
Forgive me, I meant this as a defensive statement. I'm super happy for crown getting 1st last night, and think they deserve it (and 2nd the night before). People have been saying it's due to cadets not getting enough sleep, or the ToC scoring being wacky... And then tonight people who usually cheer for Cadets say they look tired today...again. Again, I'm not offended. Just calling some people out for always having an excuse for the Cadets not winning... other corps are allowed to be better.

I think a lot of it's the power of suggestion. They've had a few disappointing results in the last week and some people started floating the "tired" notion, so now others are following suit. This is not to say they aren't overtired, they very well may be.
It's like suggesting they're the rightful owners of 1st place, and the only way BD/Crown could top them is if the corps were under the weather. Kind of annoying.

No, I'm a BK homer and love that crown is winning. Definitely not offending me.
But people have been saying "Cadets need sleep" as an excuse for 3 days, and maybe they're actually not tired and performing their butts off. :)

Just a thought.. MAYBE the cadets look GREAT! (hence getting a medal in every competition this year), and the folks saying they look tired are more offensive than the ones saying they think their show should be in 2nd or 3rd... just a thought.

On a serious note. I agree, these corps are doing SO well. I especially love The Mandarins from that grouping! That trumpet section is on FIRE.

It's almost as good as a finals night win, because it was preceded by tons of Cadet Fanboys stating the 2nd place finish the previous night was due to ToC scoring. So.. everyone had every right to be crazy excited! (since the cadet homers couldn't blame it on ToC). It was like a moral win. We believe Crown is just as good, or better.. it was like a slap in the face to the doubters.

I have little complaint about this year's show, because, compared to last year's, the 2015 show is 10 times better design wise than 2014, and the members know it because they are performing this show to its peak every night.
...so what's the complaint?

I still like BD/Crown/Cadets chances. If someone fell in Crowns show, they woulda got 2nd. <3 that we have a super competitive season.

Cadets had my attention at the opener... I really want to like this show. Not sure if I have ever sat through an entire run of theirs. I don't know why but I lose interest in their show quickly.
it's a top 4ish (maybe gold) show for sure, but yeah... I feel like they play a LOT of notes for the sake of playing notes. Extending phrases from shosty's original work that kinda ruin the intensity.

I feel sorry for the MM that have to listen to the trashing.
I don't think anyone has said phantoms performers suck. It's exactly the opposite. People are praising the corps, just saying show design isn't as good as when JD was there. I marched BK 05 and I thought our show design was bad... I don't think I'd take offense if someone on a forum thought so too. :\

Then I feel sorry for people like you. All corps lose staff but the supporters don't throw in the towel because the shows don't meet their expectations. The kids need support not grief from the supposed adults. You support a corps through good and bad times. Try fixing the problems instead of being so critical .Feel bad for the MM.
Don't feel sorry for us, we did get sad when JD left... but look what he did to Vanguard. ;)

No, I'm a horn student that sought out J.D. Shaw because I fell in love with what he did with Phantom Regiment. He ended up leaving florida and teaching at my University. Studied under him and I think he's incredible. Since he left Phantom (minus Turandot) their shows have been kinda dull in comparison. It's not an attitude, it's an opinion.
Notice I say NOTHING about the kids, just the show design.
