  1. Wow, you are bringing back some great memories! I consider both of us very lucky to have had family so involved in the activity. You had the foresight to save so many great items! You must have a major museum. You should be very proud! Nancy
  2. 1975 finals in Philly Top - dead bird during Crown Imperial, bottom - leaving the field
  3. Artwork by M. Sylvester won at silent auction for Zingali Scholarship fund. oops I botched the photoshop on this one..... It was supposed to be finished but the artist is very busy. I'll try to forgive. Anyway, it reflects some of the corps/bands Zinglai worked with.
  4. 83 Retreat....last one of 83 for now.... (sorry, correct one now up)
  5. 1983 Retreat - Lynn Manning Bowl - Lancer show
  6. OK so, Cliffy White (won I & E Contra 1980) coming out for concert solo. AND our very great friend John2780 just to the right.....other names will be filled in.
  7. A sad night for the east, but a wonderful night for the Blue Devils....when I think of their 1980 show all that comes to mind is "La Machine". OK, so, top Diane B. with Overthehilldm directing B-men off the retreat field in Birmingham 1980.... Below, Carol A., Tracy P., Bonnie V., and I also leaving the field.... I think I need to photoshop bottom pic eh?
  8. LancerLegend has discussed Duffy Silk so many times. I wanted to have him enjoy some of the pics I took. I will try to get back to just uniformed people, places, things. I will get these to the 2-7 site soon, but I thought sharing would be alright too. So top pic is Duffy at rehearsal summer of 1994. Bottom is my sister Anita with Duffy at the 1994 banquet. They marched together from 11or 12 years old maybe in the Reveries until Anita left for college at the end of the 27s 1970 season. I could figure out the year but just can't think right now) Thanks for indulging me with this type of photo. Side note: the corps (junior Reveries-I believe mid 60s) was getting ready to leave for a show and I cannot remember what incident happened but George B said the busses would not move until the person owned up to the blunder. Withough hesitation Duffy said it was him, it wasn't, but he always took one for the team. On that day George and my Dad discussed what Duffy was made of and the rest as they say is history. He was hard core. A great leader! ooh, ooh, Michael D is in the background....YEAH!!!!
  9. Nope, you are very correct and it's embarrasing to have been caught doing it, but I have to tell you had I been able to take just a few drags prior to taking the field of competition I could have alleviated the panic attacks, ulcers, and wishing I could faint when they said "is the corps ready". I really and truly needed medication - that's how terrified I was for 75% of the performances I did thru my lifetime. Instructors used to say chill, you can do this in your sleep, you've got this. (Yeah, live in my head for one show!) That wasn't the point. Dropping equipment is just so friggin obvious and it is a blatant mistake unlike being off key unless it's a solo and although we were a team it sometimes felt to me that we were soloists. If we dropped everyone knew it. I wouldn't mind a do over, web redemption, whatever, just to have enjoyed the field of competition as much as I enjoyed the practice field. Also, then males could smoke in uni, females couldn't. However, I don't believe I ever did it in public proper, this was at our hotel, and we were loading the busses for Foxboro for the moment of truth with only our people there, but again that is NO EXCUSE! If it had been the early 70s I would have been wearing that cigarette on my nose or in my ear. Ike would have made sure of that. He kind of mellowed with age. I'm sure most have heard the stories......he was sometimes very scary to a 12 year old. God Bless Ike.
  10. OK, one more then to sleep I go... Patti B., Ma and Paula Scopa, Peggy Twiggs, Denise B., Anne F. (all Reveries & Lancers) 1994
  11. Gary C., Jim B. (Buck), Ralph John at 1994 luncheon prior to finals...I hope LancerLegend sees this one! These 3 are legends to me. Picture below, Denise B. 1994, the true Goddess of the 27th Lancer rifle line......she can, did and does make a line look like one....she IS the reason we looked good, she would except nothing less.
  12. Ike Ianessa has been mentioned many times so I thought I'd post this to put a name to the face. Ma, Ike, Me 1994
  13. Hi doll, thanks for the reply! That must be quite a collection, and they do bring back so many memories! I believe I also have the small oval button, but you'd be able to tell me for sure. I have to say that Mr. and Mrs. Slushy looked absolutely marvelous.....I asked where you were and they said warming up.....it was wonderful....there were soooo many tears while you were playing.....
  14. Wow, the staff could afford acetate sheets???? The staff used spray paint for each set, from the sky it looked like a UFO landing strip. It was black hot top. Ditto for my experience. There were a few sets of charts/sheets that the M & M staff had. In 1994 we did get sheets, however due to a letter I sent to the powers that be and then a conversation we got a 2nd set to reset where each rifle would be located. Long story......but I felt so important because I was actually heard......ain't I proud.... way too much information I know but I just think it's funny what goes on behind the scenes that no one has a clue about. I'll have to start a new topic along those lines! Oh, sorry, my point was that we had kind of the same thing.
  15. Must paste the "H" back on.....I absolutely loved, loved, loved the field this competition was held on. I remember that week before finals we performed on some very well manicured fields. No drag, no slowing down, no speeding up, just great marching fields...... I kind of think that there was a raffle for a date with our drum major at this show, however we pulled out right after the show so I don't know how, when or why this could be.....I don't believe I made the story up but maybe someone was playing with me or trying to make me jealous in some way...
  16. Given at 1979 banquet to members of the guard. Need to scan a few other years.
  17. My t-shirt with our late 70s/80s flag on it. As an FYI, I've had a tough 2 or 3 years and believe it or not scanning and posting, etc. is therapeutic for me. Hope you understand and if you do, thanks!....
  18. I apologize ahead of time. I did not go thru all 22 pages to see if this 2-7 pin has been posted. I seem to remember this as being one of the first pins I can remember of the corps. It's very large and I remember when I first wore it it was huge on my very large chest. K-I-D-D-I-N-G. I will ask a charter member or maybe Steve S's parents - there is a picture of Adelva and Slush (directors of Reveries and co-directors of North Star) with many of these pins on them and behind them.
  19. I agree. You know over the past 45 years I've taken some truly beautiful pictures of many people, but this one and the one of Darlene (their daughter who passed) that I took at the Olympics in 1980 which was/is used in many of her memorials are 2 of the best I can remember. It actually has another person in that pic, but for the purpose it was needed I edited it. I have a great one of her (Darla) in 1967, she was 8 I was 7, she's with my sister, it's really cute. This one of the Bs I sent to them and their children, along with a few others that looked like studio photos. This one just seems to capture them, her glammed up and he proud as a peacock. There were so many sides to them, but I most remember my favorite 2 -the "being on tour too long look", or "being red carpet ready". I loved both! Thanks again Malibu, I'm still trying to upload my new pics from my scanner to photobucket with no luck, but it's only been a day, so I'll get it!!
  20. I'm almost sure this is after the judges allowed the Reveries to go on....
  21. Yes, top pic is Lynn and Denise and Janine Bonfiglio, Greg Lagola and I.
  22. Lynn Manning Bowl, but help, I don't recall who this is....
