You bring up a valued concern, and though I have no idea what the situation here is, I highly recommend that the performer know to separate the criticism from her actual self. Perhaps the instructor is yelling at the work, and not the performer. Which is fine. There is SO much opportunity for growth if she understands that the teacher is critical of the work, and not her.
