  1. I think you are right about St Vinnie's being from Bayonne though they were more a 50's corps than the OP's 60's-70's. They folded before my time; I think my first drum instructor when I started marching in 1964 marched with them.

    Back then (the 50's) you also had St Joe's from Newark as a very good corps...again, before my time.

    yes St. Vincent's is on the corner of 47th st and Ave C in Bayonne and fielded one of the most dominant drum corps of their era, winning many national championships. buuuuut they were from uptown... (very different from the corps that later formed downtown :blink: )

  2. The Bridgemen Brass still have a few spots open for the 2008 season!

    The Bridgemen have left open 1 lead mello, 1 second mello, 1 lead bari, 2 3rd bari, and two contra spots to fill.

    This will fill out our line for the season. The Bridgemen have rehearsal this Saturday and Sunday from 12-6 at St Andrew's in Bayonne.

    The Bridgemen will be performing Shaft! Big Noise from Winnetka, Stan Kenton’s Here's that rainy day, as well as some great favorites... In The Stone, My favorite things, and the corps signature tune... The William tell Overture

  3. The Bridgemen are bringing back one of its long standing traditions!!!

    The Bridgemen Ball is returning!! and, as always, all Alumni are invited to attend!!

    The Bridgemen Alumni Corps will be hosting the first Bridgemen Ball in more than 20 years!!! The Bridgemen Ball will be December 8th, 2007. It will be from 7-11 and will be held at St.Andrews (where else would it be held). The cost will be $25 per person (we kept the cost as low as it can be. THIS IS NOT A FUNDRAISER FOR THE CORPS!!!!). The price includes buffet style dinner (San Vito is doing the food), beer/soda. Plus we will be having a DJ.

    If you are interested in coming, you need to purchase your ticket(s) by the Monday after Thanksgiving.

  4. The Bridgemen will be holding their open house on Saturday November 17th, 2007. It will be held at St.Andrews on 4th street and Broadway, in Bayonne NJ. It will start off with a information meeting from 12-1, followed by practice from 1-5. The next day the corps will be again practing from 12-6. The corps is open to anyone who wants to march regardless if you are an alumni or not.

    The Tournament Of Stars will be held on June 14th this year. Lineup is being worked on and more information will follow.
