  1. Legolaus.... while I absolutely love your list and admit to being totally biased when it comes to Diamond Jim Brady... he did not march in 1979. 1978 was unfortunately his last marching year with the Bridgemen.

He did teach us in 1982 and for that I am eternally grateful!!!

just imagine if the Saints grew and they kept their 3 great soprano players...

this could have possibly been the greatest sop trio to ever, ever, EVER!!!!! play together.

  2. -----NAH!! B)

No begging necessary, we would have loved to have you! As I've stated before, the 1994 reunion corps was extra special because soooo many people who had not had the opportunity to march while the corps was competing, for whatever reason, finally got to wear the uniform and take pride in being a part of a legend.

Somewhere, there's a phenomenal picture of 27th and Bridgemen's drumlines showing exuberant comeraderie at a retreat. Someone please post here...

the one where they are all arm in arm.. and they are Lancer,Bridgemen,Lancer, Bridgemen and so on..... thats the two corps bass drum lines. I'm almost positive it was taken in 1983. I'll find a copy of it.

  3. No it is not.... and a certain someone's head is gonna be rolling down Broadway and Astor Place in about 15 minutes when I have to ask why this "opinion" just keeps finding its way back to our website!

There is the history of DC that has been written by three distinguished members of our organization. That is the story that "we" choose to believe. Unfortunately they keep being melded together.

I assure you this will be taken care of TODAY

  4. Disqualifications due to overage members is just that - a disqualification - you played an unfair advantage and got caught. Bridgemen actually got a court injunction to be able to perform at 1977 finals and would have finished fourth. The injunction was overturned and their placement was not counted. Would they have finished fourth with a qualified member marching in that spot? Probably, but who knows. Same with Muchachos. Yes, it's intriguing to wonder where Muchachos would have finished (my guess is third with a good performance), however the unfortunate fact remains that it will always be a futile guessing game.

without reliving the whole story that seems to come up on regular occasion. If you really follow all the gory details of 77... you will know, it was a misinterpretation of the rules for two members earlier in the 77 season. When the rule was clarified for the corps, the two members, whose replacements were on tour with the corps, were put in... this happened long before Denver. So... just to clarify... the Bridgemen corps that took the field in Denver was in compliance with the age rules.

  5. Thanks Holly!

We don't have to imagine it. The reality is now here. We've been working tirelessly to polish up the building and make it ready for the corps to move in. It's just about ready to be rocked off of its foundation!

The building really is huge. It will become a drum corps mecca for years to come in the future. When I first stepped into the new corps hall, my jaw dropped at the sheer size of it. Like Alex said, there's TONS of room for all the sections to rehearse in, SEPARATELY, and there's beautiful APARTMENTS upstairs for out of town members that need a place to crash for the weekend.

And it's all OURS. Simply astonishing what can happen with amazing alumni support and a lot of elbow grease from members and alumni alike.

I assume we'll be posting pics when it's all cleaned and looking tidy...which will be occuring shortly!

well the real question then become what about the Tax burden??? is someone taking care of that also?? if so, you really hit it big!
