... nor is it Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon".

Some corps come out with a full show, some don't.
Raiders' show at Jackson consisted of only its first two of four movements, and they don't compete again until July 24.

Ok. Really don't know what I am doing, and know I am already late to the season, but what the heck. Just registered and signed up 3 corps. So I gather that I select schedule and captions as soon as my corps are live in the system? See you all on the fields.

deleted - too sleepy. Joke made no sense.

You know when you think about it, it's no different than us parents trying to find our child hiding under a shako.
The trick is to get copies of your kid's drill and dot maps

I predict that at least one of the teams in the 25-29 range will NOT wind up in the position predicted.

“Answer me one question," said DCP. "Are these the shadows of the things that Will be, or are they shadows of things that May be, only?”
Still Hostrauser pointed downward to the list by which he stood.
“Corps' courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead,” said DCP. “But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me!”
Hostrauser was immovable as ever.

Raiders
Your wife must have been sitting a few seats away from me, and probably just a couple rows down. My seat was side 1, 6 steps inside the 30, row 19. Almost directly inline with my son at the start of the show, 4 inside the 30 in front.
I was able to snap a pic of this moment of Boston's show, which got no reaction from the crowd. Admittedly, it's difficult to make out by anyone not in the very highest seats.

Has anyone noticed the pit completely disappears? Even with the contrasting uniform I never looked at the pit during the entire program. Probably the stage conditions your focus to look up and over.
it's like an actual orchestra pit, now

Enjoyed the evening. Good things to say have already been said by others. Bad things to say I'll keep to myself.
Wished Jersey Surf had been there for more local flavor.

They are at the gate. Pit is set up and waiting

Weather is perfect - starting to get cool, though last week'a DCA in Bayonne was downright chilly.

Liked 7th's show!

Actually, under the "Ignore" preferences, under "My Settings", you can turn off the signature for individual posters (i.e. you can see their posts but "ignore" their signatures).

Wow...$500-1000 for everything. Late June though July. That sounds like a bargain considering it's Europe.
That's what I thought as well. Of course, how much free time will there be to actually experience Europe?

If they are really mean, shaming, distant, uncompassionate facists, one is left to wonder why so many of them would have come back.
Come for the fascism. Stay for the fashion.

I'll be there!

I wonder how much of the Crown intensity is staff driven versus member culture driven. Cadets have seemed to draw those sort of members as well, who just seem to want to have that high intensity experience and achievement. BD draws a different sort of member, yet still achieves the same level of achievement with a different sort of member experience.
The band I teach had a BD contra player back in the late 90's as a tech. He was a NJ native who flew all the way to Concord to march, even though the Cadets were an hour away. He told us he had zero desire to march in a corps with the Cadet's driven culture and experience, while he LOVED the BD member philosophy and experience.
Personally, I think members for the most part find a corps that fits into their own mind-set, otherwise they end up having a miserable time. Myself, after the 69 season in a small corps, I waffled back and forth between two 'A' corps, the Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights and the Garfield Cadets. BS, an urban corps from Newark, NJ, was my huge personal favorite growing up through the 60's. I had more friends in Garfield who had joined them after the 68 season. After a long fall and early winter of going back and forth, I decided that the Garfield culture was more in line with my own personality than BS, so I chose the Cadets and loved my time there.
I wish there was a thread describing such corps cultures, to help prospective members in planning which corps to target. Of course, I'm sure the arguments that would arise there would probably close the thread down quickly.

After watching the show tonight on FanNetwork (couldn't make the movie theatre - had to attend my daughter's 5th grade matriculation ceremony), I'd just like to say "well done" to BAC!!! I get to see the show live next Saturday, and am really looking forward to it!

One thing I will say as a person on the field.....
ThankYou Crowd!
although some folks may be bean counting success or failure by numbers , those of us out there really appreciate the enthusiasm and interaction of the fans in the seats!
It was a beautiful night for DrumCorps and an enjoyable event!

And thank YOU for the show. Was that you in the jester hat?

As someone said to me once, you don't pay $11 to go into a movie and get told you will have to pay another $11 in a few weeks to see how the movie ends.
Unless it's The Hobbit.
Incompleteness of a certain show was bothersome to me as well, for personal reasons.

I suppose they could have been more literal, and gone the route of narrators
"In a world torn by conflict, when the animals had wrenched power from the humans, there arose one pig to rule them all."
-
Yes you did...I remember you talking about a few choices a few months back...
I wonder if I get a prize for guessing it ... like, maybe allowing my son to march with them next season?

I'd like to hear that SCV show again, unplugged

I wanted to see them follow up the Aretha Franklin impersonator with a Gene Gene the Dancing Machine impersonator
