All this Inferno chatter inspired me to go back for a long overdue rewatch.
Had forgotten the sheer, overwhelming power of the opener. Just a sonic wall of drum corps bliss.
Maybe 2nd place in ‘15, but forever #1 in this Crownie’s heart ♥️👑
Here’s to a monster run this evening. Off tomorrow, so I’m going the distance tonight!!

This. Gawd yes, this. I, too, was in attendance in ‘15 @ WFU (1st season of NightBEAT venue relocation from ALMS/Charlotte), and as Dennis DeLucia was famous for saying “ The crowd is [was] electric!!”
Crown was nipped by BD that night, but BB&T stadium—as was named then—collectively lost it’s mind that Sunday night👑🎺🥁

As a high school trumpet player in the mid ‘70’s, I worshipped at the alter of Maynard Ferguson. So it goes without saying that I’m awestruck year in and out by DCI screamers.
But, jeeze, the control, intonation and luscious tone of that soloist in the ballad is equally brilliant.
In the running for one of Crown’s finest ballads.
And after ‘13, thought that’d be impossible.

So power was out when I woke this a.m. Reduced to my obsolete, bug riddled phone, I see one thing: Crown passed by Bloo.
Returning after church, I’ve been able to read the autopsy in more depth, and I’m a bit more sanguine about the situation.
Eerily, this has the early vestiges of a bad movie, that we’ve had to sit through for too many seasons now.
As always though, I remain hopeful for continued success as we enter the truly competitive part of the season.
Lot of drum corps left to “be played”…
