I got two words for you: HIGH CAM
High cam is nice, but in some venues, it is too high. The Devils is in the details.

I saw it on the multi-cam.
The whole evening I was on multi-cam and for much of the night it got "stuck" on hi-cam. I had to switch to hi-cam and back to multi- to get the multi to play properly. Very annoying.
They showed a few seconds of the tap shoe segment, not the entire feature.

I love SCV's show, but I really dislike the giant tarps. On Flo, it was reflective and over exposed and hard to look at. Why???? they already had so much on the field already. More visual clutter.
I think their music this year is superior to last year, actually. Maybe not the whole show, but the music for sure, IMHO
And I love BD's little shoe feature; I think it's witty and fun. I wish Flo had shown it. I like their props a lot. They use them in so many ways; someone over there is very clever!
The Bluecoats are so good and so much fun to watch and listen to. I would like to see such a pleasing show win DCI.
It is time for corps to send a rep to the Flo booth to tell them what to show. Missing the major features like the tap shoe section is a big loss for home viewers trying to enjoy the whole show.

Unlike a lot of corps this year, BAC actually has tough drill. Anyone can stand in place and play big moments. As I watch Bloo, a lot stop and play, walk marching. But they do sound amazing.

If the Blue Devils ever placed fifth or sixth at finals would it be considered a sky is falling situation or just a speed bump?
It would be an incredible year for drum corps. Imagine a DCI Finals with 4 or 5 corps BETTER than the current Blue Devils in both show design and performance.

No, they just need to take into account the established standardized placement of field mics at Flo-covered events. It ain't too hard, folks.
Actually, they don’t. DCI is still focused on the fans in the stands. That is how the shows will continue to be designed, including mic placement. The streaming platform needs to figure out how to adjust/improve to better their product...and I say that as someone who has to rely on Flo for late season shows most years (maybe not this year).

Can they three peat - I think that’s the question...
holy moly SCV
FFS. Let them REPEAT first before you start talking about a threepeat.

I've been listening to the source music all week. What a great rep to work with.

Rumors and Reddit...Does anyone really think the e-mail would have gone out without a formal announcement of some sort by the SCV organization? They seem far too professional to let something like that to happen.

ALWAYS open to the public.
Almost always. Patrick Seidling posted today that due to construction activity at the Colts training facility, they cannot allow any visitors for today's and tomorrow's rehearsals. Only members and instructors are allowed on site. Note: This is not the Blue Devils' decision but the Colts management decision.

Once again my complaint is not with the performers, its with the evaluation and reward that is given by the judges. Seems to be a disconnect on the content/repertoire.
So, your complaint isn't with the performers, you just claim that they don't deserve the scores they are getting or don't deserve to win when they do. Yeah, how could anyone think that would affect the performers.

By the end of the season, the judges "usually" get it right.
But I swear to God, if BD wins again this year, I'll be mad. And I'll probably be much less inclined to watch any DCI next season. Especially paying for the crappy Flomarching.
BD win because they out execute everyone else. This year they're being out executed in many captions. And with the way SCV is performing their musical program, they should be at least 1 point ahead of anyone. Too close for comfort.
So, if BD wins, you suddenly don't/didn't enjoy watching all of the other shows any more? If BD improves execution beyond SCV by finals, you'll STILL be upset if the better performed show wins?
I just don't get it. If all that matters to you is that BD doesn't win...ever...you might as well stop following the activity. It is going to happen more often than not, based on recent history.
It is comments like this that kind of make me WANT BD to win, just to see all of the heads explode here that night (BoyWonder, Contrafart, etc.). Lighten up and just enjoy the shows. They are all really great if you can just get that chip off your shoulder.

That's a good way to put it. They play the heck out of it. But it's really cheesy. Too much Downey, imo. Doesn't grab you like SCV or Bloo.
Wayne Downey? He didn't arrange the brass book this year. Try to keep up.

3 way horse race between SCV, BD, and Bloo shaping up! Interestingly both Bloo and BD scored higher than SCV did at DATR
They'll all be together in a few days. THAT will be an interesting show.

Why.

It would make more sense for show sponsors to simply designate the allowable warmup areas for their shows. Do this, and the problem goes away completely (or penalties are assessed).

will they let Mandarins beat Phantom?
Let? That is kind of up to the Mandarins.

Cavies took guard. Blue Devils cleaned up the rest.

Blue Devils, definitely. Considering Bloo has been 3-4 points up on Cavies, I would expect the same out of Devils. Cavies were by far my favorite of the night, however.
3-4 points? The only time Bloo and Cavies have been at the same show was the tour premier. Bloo 70.3. Cavies 69.35.

Roku premium connected via HMDI to the stereo. It doesn't freeze up like the old laptop to TV did.

The music is the Blue Devils show is a perfect match to the painting their show is based on. You can almost hear it when you look at the picture. The guard this year is incredible.
That said, SCV looks fantastic, too. Something tells me there is more than meets the eye under those clunky white uniforms. There is nothing better than seeing the Blue Devils and the Vanguard duke it out for a championship. This year may not only depend on winning caption, but by how much in each. A big spread in one caption could be the difference between 1 and 2. What a great season.

Just finished up my first year of dental school yesterday. I've had literally no time to keep up with drum corps. Still got a good amount of studying to do this summer but hopefully I'll be able to be around DCP a bit more
Dental school? Okay, now you're on my list. Just had my wisdom teeth out. All of you dentists can burn in hell. ;)

1. BD - 72.700 (GE, Visual, Guard, Brass)
2. SCV - 72.450 (Music, Percussion)
3. BK - 66.800
4. Mandarins - 66.200
5. Academy - 63.450
6. Troopers - 60.950
A few thoughts:
1) phew...all is right in the world again for BD fans.
2) Where is Treefiddy who was declaring the season over last night and assuring us that SCV and SCVC would both win it all?
3) Slotting...or something...

Fans these days are just going soft. Back in my day, we didn’t let little things like medical emergencies stop us from going to a show. These are not “real” drum corps fans!
Obviously kidding. Hope all is well.
